MINISTERS DESIRE CONCERTED EFFORT IN DRY CAMPAIGN Expressing regret over what appears to be a lack of harmony among th temperance forcea ot the state, and indicating that the Richmond Ministerial Association was not contemplating taklnR any sides in a quarrel which might Jeopardise the enactment or a state-wide prohibition law by the legislature next year, the ttev. H. S. James, president of the Richmond Ministerial Association, has avoided discussing the action of the New Castle Ministerial body In serving an ultimatum on the Indiana AntiSaloon League that unless it affiliated with the Indiana Dry Federation the New Castle ministers would refuse, in the future, to have any dealings with the league. Disregards the Trouble The Rev. Mr. James stated that he knew very little about the Indiana Dry Federation and pointed out that if Indiana was to become a prohibition state te dry forces must present a united front. The Indiana Anti-Saloon League Issued a formal statement yesterday regarding its position in the dry fight In which it appropriated to Itself the credit for much of the prohibition sentiment prevalent in Indiana and declared that its reason for declining to Join the Indiana Dry Federation was because the federation is headed by partisans. . The league's statement is that the fight in Indiana is not before the voters but in the Legislature. The members of the Legislature who favor prohibition, it declares, it helped to elect in nonpartisan campaigns throughout the state. It charges that in the memherKhln of the federation are persons

The merry Mr. Claus. brother of old Santa himself, with as cheerful a boom in his voice and as bright a twinkle in his eye, met scores of children yesterday. He looked so much like his brother that the children thought they were talking to their patron saint, who has never yet failed to visit Richmond at the -trick of the first second, December 25. Mr. Claua was in and out of stores, passing out candy, shaking hands, gravely listening to the desires of each httle child led to him by an interested mother. Even the Claus store house ib exhausted sometimes and the Greek candy store furnished another big sack of candy so that none of the little worshipper! would be disappointed.
