George ' C. ' Boldt, proprietor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York, hailed as "the greatest of hotel men," Is dead today from a . sudden attack of heart disease. Boldt, besides being proprietor of the Waldorf, was identified with a number of hotel, cigar and table water enterprises and a director of many banks, trust companies and insurance companies. His combined yearly, salary was said to be $500,000. He was known by many of the most prominent persons of the United States and Europe, many of whom he counted among his personal friends. He began life as a waiter, educated himself, saved his money, invested' it and finally was able to establish the magnificent Waldorf within two blocks of the place where he had served at tables. -
