INDIANA SENDS LAWYER SOLONS TO LEGISLATURE
INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 1. The first edition of the directory of the Indiana legislature for 1917 which has Just been issued indicates that law again will head the list of vocations, of members. The senate, so far as the first edition of the directory shows, will be . composed . of 16 lawyers, 4 farmers, 6 manufacturers, 2 bankers, 3 editors, 2 retired; 1 physician, 1 coal operator, 1 lumber dealer, 1 hardware dealer, 1 funeral director, 1 shorthand reporter, 1 insurance man and 9 unclassified men. Lawyers reporting number 19, the ratio indicating there will be about 40 in the house. Other occupations reported, and the number follow: Real estate! 7; physicians, 2; merchants, 1; salesmen, 1; circus owners, 1; ministers, 2; grain dealers, 1; contractors, 1; bankers, 2; and unclassified, 64. SUGAR CARDS
OUT IN SWEDEN
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 1.
After December 1 no sugar can be
sold in Sweden except upon presentation of a sugar card,. A stock-taking throughout the kingdom was shown that some method of controlling the consumption is unavoidable,, and the card system, patterned on Germany's methods of regulation, was decided on. One kilogram (2.2 pounds) will be allowed per month per capita, except for December, when two kilograms will be available. The sugar shortage has been marked for some months, and has lately assumed serious proportions. It had been hoped and expected, however, that this fall's sugar-beet harvest would make any state regulation of consumption unnecessary, but it has now been .found that, including this year's production, there will be unavailable only about thirteen kilograms per person from now until November 1, 1917. A further result of the sugar shortage may be a forced reduction in the production of arrac punch, the socalled national drink of the Swedes. Fully a million kilograms are used for punch-making yearly. The drinker who consumes three half bottles weekly a rather moderate consumption for a punch-drinker consumes therein as much sugar as his sugarcard entitles him to buy at the grocer's.

MARRIED LIFE
Continued From Page One. Mr. and Mrs. Vore have lived in Richmond. They have lived at their present home on North Tenth street, thirty-four years. When they first moved here, Old Pearl street (now Fifth street) was the east boundary of the town. Shoot Wild Game. Thanksgiving sixty-seven years ago was celebrated quite differently In Wayne county than it was yesterday, Mr. Vore said today. Turkeys could be had by going out in the woods and shooting them Other game was also plentiful. There were no picture shows or vaudeville entertainments to retire to after the large dinner had been srved. The afternoon and evening
were either spent at home or at church. Courtships and honeymoons were also quite different. Automobiles and electrics have taken the place of riding ponies and trains which rush through the country at sixty miles an hour have replaced the slow moving stage coaches. From the talk of the pioneer residents it could be gathered that they
would rather enjoy a honeymoon under j
modern conditions. " Wants to See Progress. Both are anxious to live several years yet to enjoy the love that their children demonstrate towards them and to "see what this old world will do."-...-. The anniversary yesterday was celebrated in a quiet way. Relatives gathered at the Vore home where a larga and old fashioned Thanksgiving dinner was served. The following were present: Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Vore and daughter

Among the hundreds of statements being made dally in connection with Tanlac, the celebrated medicine that has become so popular in Richmond and vicinity recently, none is more interesting than the one made on 'October 17, by E. L. Drum, a Richmond salesman. Mr. Drum is known by hundreds of people of this city and vicinity. All who are acquainted with Mr. Drum agree that he is a man of unquestioned honesty and integrity and one, who under no circumstances would make a false or exaggerated statement. "For several years I have suffered from stomach trouble and rheumatism," Mr. Drum said. "I also was very nervous and I didn't sleep well at night. Dull headaches often bothered me. My feet frequently became swollen because of rheumatism and severo pains would result. "I had tried so many medicines withsut deling any benefit that I had lbout given up when I heard Tanlac
highly recommended. I decided to try this medicine. Since taking Tanlac the nervousness has been completely relieved and I sleep as soundly as a
child at night now. The dull head
aches also have disappeared. I can eat anything I care for with no bad
after effects. The, swellings and pains
in my feet also have disappeared."
Tanlac, the Master Medicine, has
won legions of friends In Richmond
and vicinity who are as enthusiastic
about the new preparation . as Mr.
Drum. It 1s seldom that Tanlac fails to reach the affected parts in cases of
stomach, liver and kidney trouble, ca
tarrhal complaints, rheumatism, nerv
ousness, loss of appetite and the like. Tanlac does its work quickly and yet in a most thorough and satisfactory manner.
Tanlac is now being specially Introduced and explained in Richmond at
the Sixth and Main streets drug store of Clem Thistlethwaite's and at other Thistlethwaite's stores. Adv.
