where they attended the funeral of
their nephew, Mr. Carl wilcoxen, who was killed in an accident at Michigan City last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lucas are the proud parents of a baby son. Master Raymond, born Monday at their home, 418 North Twenty-first street Mrs. Lucas 1b the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Ford, North E street. Miss Betty Cook and Mr. Everett Hoerner of Dayton, Ohio, were guests of Miss Dot Marine, Sunday. MrsJ.W. N. Trueblood entertained members of the Aftermath society this afternoon. Mrs! S. W. Hod Kin, a member of the Francis Willard W. C. T. U. of this city, went to Indianapolis where she was one of the main speakers Monday afternoon at the ratification meeting of the Central W. C. T. U. at the home of Mrs. 8. R. Artman. The principles of the union will be made known to the fifty new members who Joined during the National W. C. T. U. convention.
Members of a Sunday school class of the First Presbyterian church taught by Mrs. D. L. Mather were hospitably entertained Saturday afternoon at her home, North Twelfth street. The time was spent socially and with music and games. Refreshments were served. The members are Misses Martha Jones, Gladys

Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Thomas and son Wallace, will 6pend Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Burton Carr. After Thanksgiving Mrs. Thomas will go to New York City, where she will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Kelly are spending the season there.

ECONOMY, Ind.7" Nov. 28. J. "A. Hartzell, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Veal, is in, New York on his way back from Roumania to Economy, where with. Mrs. Hartzell, who is accompanying him, he hopes to eat Wayne county Thanksgiving turkey this week. Hartzell is the Roumanian representative of the Standard Oil company, and if war conditions had not prevented his stay, he would have completed a term of three years In that country on February 1, 1917. The smashes which the Teutonic armies are delivering in that country necessitated his return to the United States. Mr. and Mrs.- Hartzell arrived in New York Monday. .
