SERVUS CLOSES DOORS

High cost of foodstuffs has delivered a knockout blow to one of the city's largest and most popular restaurants, the "Serve Us," on Main street between Seventh and Eights streets. The sign "Closed" appeared on Its door today. Attorney William A. Bond announced that he had purchased the f xtures for a client and Guy Gotchall, one of the owner of the City restaurant, stated that he had purchased the "Serve Us" supplies.

The "Serve Us" was the city's only

dairy lunch restaurant and was open

FOX HEAR8 BOARD BILL

CASE IN CIRCUIT COURT

Before Special Judge A. C. Llndemuth, trial of the suit of Ralph Chilcoate against Robert E. Shute for col

lection of a board bill amounting to

$126 was started in circuit court today,

Both par-yes concerned in the suit live in Fountain City. Two years ago, Chilcoate and his mother moved Into property belonging to Shute. Shute claims that he was to receive his board and room in return for rent for

his property. Chilcoate claims, how

ever, that the rent for the propety was

paid in othe ways.

First signs of the relief of the car shortage in this section can be seen now, according to T. A. Greenstreet, freight agent for the C. & O. railroad. "Since the agitation was started for efficient unloading and loading of cars, the people of Richmond seem to be meeting the railroads in an effort to get every car in movement," said Mr. Greenstreet "There seems to be a spirit of cooperation which is already having its effect."

BRIEFS

RAILROADERS WATCH ADAMSON LAW FIGHT

Railroad brotherhood men here are having little to say of the court ruling which declared the Adamson eight hour law unconstitutional, according to information from other employes of the railroad and owners of places frequented by brotherhood men. The men have supreme confidence in their leaders' ability to straighten out matters. Brotherhood men are now working practically every minute the law and their agreement with the railroads allow. They are called out immediately after their eight hours rest, to man the many trains hauling freight over the Richmond division and divisions east and west on the Pennsylvania lines.
