WELL-WHrYT 00 yoO THIHK OF CUf VOLUNTPED Y ' Copyright, 1916, by the McClure Princess Rosina really admired her strong, handsome husband. . . "Take me home to my father's palace and you shall become a Prince," said the Princess, with a queer little smile, for she had no thought but that a poor woodcutter would jump at the chance to become a Prince. "You did not marry a Prince, although you are a Princess, my dear," replied her husband, "and although I am a poor woodcutter, I have no desire to become a Prince as you propose. No, you are the wife of a poor man and this is your home, and here you must remain." "Now I want my breakfast and I will go into the woods and shoot a rabbit or bird of some sort, and you must cook my breakfast, and then I will go to my work. I have already wasted enough time getting married." . Princess Rosina was now so angry that she could hardly speak for the tears that choked her, but she managed to Bay: "I don't know how to cook and I won't learn either, so you will go hungry if you wait for me to cook for you." Princess Rosina sat down on the step of the little hut and began to cry, but in a little while she found she was more hungry than anything else and began to watch for the husband to return. But when she saw him she turned her head and would not look at him although he was carrying two plump birds. "Come, my dear, and cook our breakfast," he said to her. "If you do not work you cannot eat," he called; "better come and cook the breakfast." , "I told you I did not know how to cook and I don't want to learn." "Very well, my dear," said her husband, "but you will learn to cook in spite of all you say." Prince Lorro cooked his breakfast on a little stove back of the hut, and when it was ready, to the surprise of his wife, he calmly sat down and ate it all and did not offer her a bite. "There, I have finished my breakfast Now I must be off to my chopping," he said. Princess Rosina watched him out of sight and then she ran around the hut to look for the basket, hoping to find something she could eat, but she was disappointed, for it contained only uncooked food. When dinner time came Prince Lor ro came back to the hut. "Is my din ner ready?" he asked. "No. it isn't if you mean have cooked it," answered the Princess. "Very well, my dear, I can get it; but I Bhould think you would be hungry enough by this time to want to cook; you cannot eat unless you do cook, re member that." He began to whistle as he prepared his dinner, and Princess Rosina thought he had quite forgotten her, so she went behind a tree and sat down on the ground and began to cry, partly MISS ROBINSON TO ENTERTAIN SOCIETY Miss Robinson, president of the high school dramatic society will be hostess at a spread for members of the society Wednesday evening after the regular meeting.
