Beautiful in all of its appointments was the reception given Thursday afternoon by Mrs. W. 0. Mendenhall at her home, College avenue, when she took this means of entertaining in honor of several visiting guests including Mrs. Alexander Purdy, Mrs. Ruf us Allen and Mrs. Benjamin Grave. The decorations - consisted of Chrysanthemums and other fall flowers. Clusters of the blossoms were placed here and there about the rooms in an effective manner. The hostess was assisted in receiving by Mrs. ; Robert L. Kelly, Miss Edna Johnson and Mrs. Ross Hadley. The hours were from 3 until 5 o'clock.- Sixty guests were entertained during the hours. The Earlham girls who assisted Mrs. Mendenhall in serving were Miss Ruth Brown, Miss Galamore, Miss Lois Kelly and Miss Marianna Dickinson. Among the guests were wives of the Earlham College faculty in addition to a number of town guests.4
