1101 WINDS CAUSE BULGE IN WHEAT

CHICAGO, Not. 16. Hot wind damaging the wheat crop In Southern Argentina caused a bnlge here today

in prices. Besides, farmers deliveries in the domestic spring wheat states were light and Interior elevator stocks were said to be small. On the upturn in Quotations, however, leading houses turned to the selling side, and the market underwent a sag. The opening, which ranged from 4c off to Tic advance, with Dec at $1.87 to' nd May at $192 to $1.93 was followed by a decided gain all around, then reactions to below yesterday's finish, and later a new upturn. Corn showed strength in sympathy with wheat. Damage to the Argentine corn crop was also a bullish factor. After opening c to llc higher, the market scored a substantial general advance with later temporary setbacks. In oats as in other grain, the Argentine situation gave an advantage to the bullB. There was a good commission house demand. Purchases for Belgium brought about a rise in provisions. Lower quotations on hogs were Ignored.
