Richmond's colony of polo fans, numbering In its' personnel a goodly percentage of the citizenry of. the town, ia beginning to get "worried over the polo situation. Indefinite arrangements for the opening of the season and rumors to the effect that polo will be a back number here this year are threatening to annex the tag of the
rabid ones who can't figure oat Just where the knock is. One thing is certain and this from the Coliseum directors there will be polo in Richmond this year. The team of last year will again represent Richmond and the Quakers will meet opposition here If the "entire Eastern League must be imported to Indiana." Gamea Hang Fire But Just the who and when of the polo season is and will be is a matter hanging fire at the present time. The Indiana League the circuit to include Muncie, Indianapolis, New Castle and Richmond is a trifle disorganized at the present. Apparently, it was the Indianapolis team that threw the monkey wrench into the mechanism of the state league, thought to have been ready for business a week ago. The Indians, it Is charged, are using certain "business methods" that do not appeal to the rest of the organisation. As alleged Tiotims of "Villa" Billy Vogel, the Indianapolis promoter, the financial backing of the New Castle and Muncie teams refuse to admit themselves the goat May Omit Indianapolis Indianapolis will be given ample time to re-consider its demands. In the end if the Indians are not willing to co-operate with the rest of the league, another team will be imported . or a "three-some" of New Castle,
Muncie and Richmond formed. There is' a possibility that Racine or some other northern city will be taken into the league to fill the gap. Disadvantages attached to this scheme, however, make the plan inadvisable. Indications are that the actual league season will not start before the middle of December. It is probable that Muncie, New Castle and Richmond will mix it in a number of exhibition games before that time, but at the present "watchful waiting" for the Indians to come through is holding up all plans. ,

Two weeks before the "big" game of the year the New Castle-Richmond contest at the Coliseum Thanksgiving eve, the rooter colony of R. H. S. is beginning to make preparations for the "entertainment" of the New Castle visitors. The New Castle game is the next game on the local floor, inasmuch as both Muncie and Rushville, opponents this and next Friday, are met on foreign floors. "Beat New Castle by Fifty Points," is the motto of the R. H. S. squad. With one exception, New Castle has a novice team this year. Johnny Klinger, Vic Lawson's understudy for the last two years, is the only old player of the squad. R. H. S. is a good bit heavier than New Castle and with Its (Richmond's) recognized speed should easily live up to its motto.
