MOTHER LOVE AIDS SON IN TRENCHES It Brings Relief To Boy Standing His Watch Deep. In Mud. Once upon a time, only a few months after this terrible world war had begun, Private Bailey, a soldier In the ranks had stood for days in the trenches "somewhere in France." T,he rold rains soaked him' to the skin; the mud was deep. He had had no rest. Weary and aching with rheumatic pains, he recalled the faith his mother had in Sloan's Liniment. He asked for it in his next, letter home. A large bottle was immediately sent him and a few applications killed the pain,' once more he was able to stand the severe, exposure. He shared this wonderful muscle-soother with his comrades, and they all agreed it was the greatest "reinforcement" that had ever come to their rescue. At your druggist, 25c, 50c and L00 a bottle.

Mr. Bruner recommended that plans be made to send committees into the country and good speakers to revive interest in the rural churches. "In many instances, people will not go to the church. It is then the duty for the church to go to the people. This is the reason for the shop meetings." Plans for the Y. M. C: A. shop meetings this winter as outlined by Mr. Bruner are to have the ministers rotate so no minister will address the same men twice in succession. Various prominent business' men will be called upon to go to the shops and introduce the ministers. NEW DISPENSARY BEGINS ACTIVITY ! WITH ONE PATIENT
Although facing the prospect of waiting for Its popularity to grow slowly, the Richmond general dispensary opened yesterday with a patient The patient had applied for treatment Saturday, two days; before the opening and was requested to return opening day. The cases win be treated confidentially. The nurse in charge and others connected with the administration of the new institution have emphasized the secrecy of its operations and the fact that it is not, for tuberculosis patients. Tuberculosis patients will be received incidentally, as any other patients. Located at Nursery The dispensary is located on the second floor of the nurses' home at 207 North Twelfth street, where nurses will be in charge every afternoon from 2 to 5 o'clock. Preliminary examinations will be given there and the patients will be referred to the specialists who have been appointed from the Richmond medical fraternity. The first; case according to the nurse in charge, happened to be a hospital case. The patient was sent to the hospital where a course of treatment will be given. Treatment will be free or will cost the amount the patient gives, in all cases. Nurses at the home expressed the belief today that the, dispensary has been long needed in Richmond and will ultimately be greatly patronized, and do much good in bringing up the general health standard of the city. Mechanism whereby the music of a piano and phonograph can be combined has been patented by a New Jersep inventor.
