PASTOR RESIGNS LIBERTY CHARGE
LIBERTY, Ind.. Not. . Rev. J. L. Hartsook, the pastor of the Presbyterian church, (or the past two, years, tendered his resignation to the congregation in a meeting .Wednesday evening. The meeting was presided. over by Rev. E. E. Davis,' the pastor of the Second Presbyterian church, of Richmond, and by Rev. Whitenack of Knightstown. ' The following men were elected to nerve as trustees of the church: C. O. Martin and I. E. Shafer for a period of three years, S,. M. Corrington and Walter Laf use for two years, and George Tappen and H. E. Page for one year. ' The elders elected were: J. P. Howe and J. C. Carson, to serve for a period of three years, Oscar Garrett and Will Sigeler, to serve for two years, and J. M. Lefferson and Robert Morton to serve for one year. ' Rev. Hartsook and family will leave after election for Spencer, Ind., where he will continue his ministerial work in the Presbyterian church In that place.

LYNN, Ind., Nov. 4. Mrs. Rella Chenoweth gave a masquerade party Tuesday evening for the members of the Loyal Women's Sunday school class. There were thirty of the ladies present, dressed in grotesque costume. A mock orchestra of wash tubs and potato mashers, dish pans and wood knitting needles rivaled Sousa's band.

SET INSTITUTE DATE
LIBERTY. Ind., ' Nov. 6. December fifth and sixth are the dates set for the annual meeting of the Union County Farmer's Institute. The meetings will be held in the Coliseum. On the fifth of December the work of the boys and girls clubs organized at the last meeting will be exhibited and judged. The Judge for the boys work is Mrs. Mamie Doughlass, and for the girls Miss Roberta McNeil. Earl C. Bowman has been the supervisor of the work done by these clubs.

MISS J&AKNIE EMMET W. Barton ' French, son of the late Seth Barton French, the financier, is scon to wed Miss Jeannie Emmet, of New York, it was announced today. No date has been set for the wedding. Mr. : French celebrated his twentyfirst birthday a few days ago when he came into possession of Barton Lodge, the country home of his mother at Hot Springs, Va. Mr. French has spent much of his time In Paris. His mother recently toured the United States lecturing for the Serbian Relief Fund.

It husks about six acres of corn a day and is reported to do good work.. . . .Mrs. Carrie Wilcox, who was recently Injured in an automobile accident, is improving. ?
JUDGES INSTRUCTED
EATON, O., Nov. 6. Judges from the thirty-two voting precincts in Preble county assembled here. Saturday at the call of the board of election supervisors and were given the ballots and other supplies to beb used in next Tuesday's election. The regular ballot to be voted measures 32 inches in length and lists candidates on five tickets. - Aside from the ticket, the judicial ballot is the only other to be voted by electors.
CONFER FIRST DEGREE
First degree work will be given to a class of candidates from Cambridge City by the Whitewater lodge of Odd Fellows on Friday night. Announcement was made today to this effect by officials of the fraternity.
