CLARION SINGERS COME
EATON, O.. Nov. 1. Preble county is to receive Thursday a visit from the "Clarion Singers," a Prohibition organization of speakers and . singers, known throughout the .country. The Prohibition cause will be espoused. The first meeting will be held in West Alexandria at 10:30 in the forenoon; Eaton, 1:30, and New Paris, 7:30 in the evening. '

And now women are taking the places of directors of big corporations. Lady Rhondda has become chairman of a big soda water company and her daughter, Lady Mackworth, has joined the board of directors. Both women may be seen at the offices of the company almost every day. The work of a director is not new to Lady Mackworth, who assists her father, Lord Rhondda, the coal magnate, in his business. She Is director of no fewer than nine companies, including a colliery company, an insurance agency, a coat distributing agency which operates in France and other countries and a Spanish Coal Company. She is not the only peer's daughter to Interest herself in business affairs.
AMUSEMENTS AT I LOCAL HOUSES
MURRETTE Billy Austin, the central figure of the new Triangle play, " Hell-to-Pay' Austin," starring Wilfred Lucas, to be Bhown at the Murrette theatre tonight, is the boss of a big lumber camp in the Northwest. He is known as "Hell-to-Pay" because, when his orders are not carried out, that is exactly what happens. He is a very bitter man, but a just man withal, and when it comes time for someone to adopt the little daughter of the camp evangelist who has lately died, Austin becomes the guardian by common consent. "AROUND THE TOWN" E. P. Churchill (Inc.) the producers of "The! Blow Out," "Fraternity Boys and Girls," "The Movie Kids," "What's Your Hurry" and "It's Coming Soon," has prepared another production which has been named "Around the Town" for which great things are promised. The book and lyrics were written by Dare M. Wolff who has several successful comedies to his credit and the music by Ray Peabod, a composer of many, song hits. Virgil P. Bennett is staging the entire production and taking Mr. Bennett's dancing numbers in several of his recent successes as a criterion, this feature of the show is assured. "Around the Town," is to be seen at the Murray theatre starting tomorrow for three days.
A new building for the department of the interior at Washington will cost about $2,000,000.

REVIVAL CAMPAIGN
Evangelistic services at the First Pentecostal church pf the Natarene, North Fifth and A streets, began last night under the direction of the "Texas Cowboy Evangelist" and the local workers, Rev. and Mrs. A. F. Balsmoir and the Rev. B. S. Taylor. Rev. C. E. Roberts has charge of the services. He is widely known as an evangelist having toured the world In that capacity. Special preparations have been maae to accommodate the large audiences which are being attracted to the church by the presence of the Rev. Mr. Roberts.
OWL AT WESTGOTT DISTURBS SLEEPERS
A young owl' Just learning his "whooo-whoooo" had employes of the Westcott hotel on a tiptoe search at 2:30 o'clock this morning. The owl was somewhere in the hotel. Finally the "whooo" was traced to rooms occupied by Mr. and Mrs. A. Goldsmith and their daughter and her friend.. Efforts to silence it were unsuccessful until a light was turned on for the rest of the night, permitting guests to resume their sleep. The Goldsmiths are touring from New York to San Francisco. East of the city yesterday, the young owl flew into their machine and was caught by the two girls. They held it and bought a cage for it here. It will be carried to San Francisco as mascot.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind., Nov. 1 The plant of the American Car and Foundry Company here has equipped a first aid station and Miss Francis McGree, a .trained nurse, has been placed in charge.
