Chester, and D. R. Longnecker, secretary, Bradford, were present. Mayor Stanley B. Foos welcomed the convention to the city. Marshal Willard Armstrong talked briefly before the meeting. , , At a session Tuesday evening business pertaining to the association was taken up. Officers were to be elected

this afternoon.

PREBLE DEMOCRATS LAUNCH CAMPAIGN

EATON, O., Oct. 25. Opening of the Democratic campaign in Preble county is announced for Thursday

evening," at West Alexandria, when George M. Thorne, ex-state treasurer of Colorado, but at present" identified with the department of justice, Washington, D. C, will present the issues of the .present campaign. Mr. Thorne will speak at New Paris Friday evening and at Lewlsburg Saturday evening. Congressman Warren Gard, Demo

cratic candidate for re-election to congress, expects to accompany Mr. Thorne and speak in the interest of his own candidacy.

Joseph Gibbs, of Leicester, Mass., Is still doing police duty, although eightyeight years old. This is his forty-sixth consecutive year on the force.
