STRENGTH IN GRAIN CAUSED BY GABLES

CHICAGO, Oct. 20. Higher cables and unfavorable reports from the Argentine, where' crop deterioration continues caused strength in wheat at the opening today. December went up to .1 cent higher to 1.70, while May rose T to 1 cent. Export sales yesterday wore 2,000,000 . bushels. Outside markets opened irregular today at M to 1 cent higher with the exception of Winnipeg, which was lower to higher. The corn market was excited and within a few minutes had risen 1 cents. Oats were strong and to 1 cents higher. , Provisions were stronger and higher on a Belgian order of 8,000,000 pounds f lard and 5,000,000 pounds of meat, v The wheat market was erratic with 'closings for the day & to cents
