Charlie Barrett Is gone and his absence has left a gaping hole In the Cornell backfield. Barrett was more than half of the Cornell team last year, according to some experts, and Coach Al Sharpe Is having a hard time to find a man to take his place in the quarterback position at Ithaca. However, Fritz Shiverick, who stepped into the breach when Barrett was injured in the game with Harvard and pulled off a few stunts which made the Crimsonites sit up and rub their eyes, is on the job and has held down the quarter position in practice. Shiverick in addition to being a wonderful man at rum, ing with the ball Is a crack kicker and undoubtedly will be the Red and White star this year.
NEW PARTS GIVEN EARLHAM MACHINE FOR THIRD BATTLE Shaken-up, re-organized, re-vamped and re-crimped, the Earlham football team will present a decidedly different battle array Saturday afternoon when Coach Whiteside sends his men into the Franklin scrimmage on Reid Field, Earlham. Following successive wallopings at the hands of Miami and Butler, the Quakers have been subjected to the most rigid and thorough overhauling ever visited upon an eleven wearing the macoon and white. Personnel of the team to start against the Baptists Saturday will not be determined until Saturday afternoon a few minutes before the game. Coach Whiteside has endeavored to construct an entirely new machine, parts of which will not be visible until the Franklin speed test is about to begin. Saturday's game on Reid Field will be the next final at-home game of the Quaker schedule inasmuch as the team has but three games booked for Richmond this season. After Saturday the team will be on the road for four Saturdays in succession. A game with Wilmington at Richmond, November 25, will wind up the schedule. SALTS IF KIDNEYS OR r LADDER BOTHER Harmless to Flush Kidneys and Neu tralize Irritating Acids. Kidney and Bladder weakness result from uric acid, says a noted authority The kidneys filter this acid from the blood and pass it on to the bladder, where it often remains to irritate and inflame, causing a burning, scalding sensation, or setting up an irritation at the neck of the bladder, obliging you to seek relief two or three times during the night. The sufferer is in constant dread, the water passes sometimes with a scalding sensation and is 'very profuse; again, there is difficulty in avoiding it Bladder weakness, most folks call it, because they can't control urination. While it is extremely annoying and sometimes very painful, this is really one of the most simple ailments to overcome. Get about four ounces of Jad Salts from your pharmacist and take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast, continue this for two or three days. This will neutralize the acids in the urine so it no longer is a source of irritation to the bladder and urinary organs which then act normally again. Jad Salts Is inexpensive, harmless, and is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and is used by thousands of folks who are subject to urniary disorders caused by uric acid irritation. Jad Salts is splendid for kidneys and causes no bad effects whatever. Here you have a pleasant, effervescent lithia-water drink, which quickly relieves bladder trouble'.
