MILTON CHURCH GIVES SURPRISE FOR REV. TAYLOR
MILTON. Ind., Oct. 18. The Rev. and Mrs. M. S. Taylor of the M. E. church were given a very pleasant surprise by his town congregation, Monday evening, in the way of a "Harvest Home" reception. It waa at fret thought to meet with them at the parsonage, but later all adjourned to the church where there was plenty of room for the large crowd. The Rev. and Mrs. Taylor were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts in which the products of the country and groceries were a feature. Viscount Uffington, only child of the Earl and Countess of Craven, is today reported to have married a Miss Macdonsld, the daughter of the Town Clerk of Invergordon, Inverneashlre, 8ootland, near Balmacaan, the residence of the Bradley Martins. The Countess of Craven was Miss Cornelia Bradley Martin of New York. The marriage of the young couple is said to have taken place in the city October 4. Uffington, who is nineteen years old, Is a lieutenant in the Third Battalion of the Hampshire Regiment. It is said the marriage was secret and has not been asknowledged by his parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Vernon, of north of Dublin, greeted friends, here Sunday and attended Plome Coming. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Baker and daughter, of Dayton, were guests of Mrs. Baker's uncle, R. F. Callaway and family, Sunday and attended Home Coming. Mr. Henley, station master at the Lake Erie and Western, has moved to Mrs. Mary Nugent's property.
NEWS CARRIERS PLAN TO ENFORCE DEMAND
A strike has narrowly been averted in Richmond. Circulation managers recently discovered that a newsboys' strike was well under way. The boys were planning to strike to make the newspapers pay for all losses caused by people on the routes who beat them out of payments. An understanding was reached, however.

MISHAWAKA, Ind., Oct. 18. Mrs. Mattle Bickel, wife of an employe of the core room at the Dodge Manufacturing company, who lives at 2717 Pleasant street, River Park.
