FRIENDS 7 YEARS; NOW LEARN THAT r THEY ARE SISTERS

' KNOXVILLE. Tenn.. Oct 14. Although they had lived as neighbors tor seven years, Mrs. Henry Grady, aged fifty-one, and Mrs. Annie Hickman aged thirty-eight did not know, they "were sisters until Mrs. Hickman mentioned her father's name one day. "Why that was my father's name, too," exclaimed Mrs. Grady. In a few seconds they established their Identities. The women had been separated more than twenty-five years ego. Neither knew where the other lhad gone. Seven years ago they became acquainted, living side by side In adjoining houses. Although' they tad visited each other frequently It was not until Mrs. Hickman mentioned her father's name that they 'realized they were sisters.

MAPLES TO GROW OVER CANADIAN WAR GRAVES

LONDON, Oct 14. Canadian maples are to be planted around the graves of the Dominion'a soldiers in France. Beeds ripened at Ottawa have been planted to Kew Gardens and the little trees from these seeds will be transplanted in France after the war. .

tral food commission has decided to establish "bread stations" in the railroad depots of all larger cities. The purpose .of this Innovation is to enable traveling officers and soldiers to obtain bread conveniently nd quickly, without loss of time. Later the station will also famish bread to traveling civilians who hold the necessary cards.
