RUSSIA RECOGNIZ
SUBJECTS IN KHAKI
IiONE'OX, Oct 14. The ugly rumor that England was about to ecnd all Russian subjects, liable . back homo for military duty, proves untrue, 'but instead a new White Paper says:. "Russian subjects of military age in this country are permitted by the Russian government to serve in ' the British army; a period of - service In
the British army by a Russian subject is equivalent In Russian law to a corresponding period of service in the Ruusian army. Russian subjects who have reached or hereafter reach the age of eighteen and who are under the age of forty-one are, therefore, invited to join the British army. This invitation extends to all Russian subjects in the United Kingdom, including those who have been locally naturalized in a British Colony and those who are registered as Belgian refugees."

ENGLISH CHEW GUM

The leading manufacturers state that within six months they have increased their monthly sales from three million to twenty million bars. It has been suggested that the habit has been Introduced by the Canadian soldiers, who share the fondness of Americans for chewing gum, but the habit's spread is largely a triumph of advertising.

FINNEY'S
Luncheonette & Confectionery
What Impression are You Making? There's a big difference in caring for clothes for their sake, and caring about them because of their effect upon others. First impressions, it is true, are often reversed; but that doesn't in any degree belittle their value. Clothes are not the man, but they are the man's outward seeming an index to what a man thinks of himself. The man who dresses his personality in GATZEK Merchant Tailored clothes has a feeling of confidence in the impression he creates. Just now, at the opening of the new season, is a good time to consider this. Come m and let us show you the new fall materials and a model of the style of garment best suited to you. Many of Richmond's best dressed men have had their clothes made by us for the past 25 years. Doesn't it strike you that we offer you a particular advantage?
