MISSION RE-ELECTS OFFICERS FOR YEAR

Officers of the City Mission were renamed last night when the executives met at the Y. M. C. A. to hear reports and to discuss several contemplated oahnges in the constitution of the organization. The officers are: W. O. Mendenhall, president; Miss Drifmeyer, vice-president; C. M. Thomas, secretary; A. L. Smith, treasurer.

FOSTER HURST CUTS FOREHEAD WHILE AT PLAY WITH CHUMS

CENTERVTLLE, Ind., Oct 10. The Cemetery association met with Mrs. H. H. Johnston Friday afternoon. Only ordinary business was disposed of as there was nothing of special importance to come before the association Foster Scott Hurst, little son of Joseph Hurst, received a very bad cut on the head which required several stitches, while playing basketball at the home of a playmate. He tripped and was, thrown against the corner of a brick house, cutting a deep gash in his head.... The Aid society of Milton, entertained the Christian Church Aid society of Centerville. Friday afternoon.... George Kutche, new proprietor of the restaurant recently owned by E. M. Blue, has offered a prize to the school children for a name for his place of business. MAYOR SENTENCES TRAMPS TO LABOR ON COUNTY ROADS

Believing there is no reason for any man to be out of work, unless incapacitated, Mayor Robbins has been showing no mercy in recent months to men arraigned before him on vagrancy charges. The latest rictim was Harry Williams, a professional tramp, who refused to work yesterday when a job was offered to him. Williams was today sentenced to fifteen days labor on the county roads. "Let me go, judge," Williams pleaded. "I am not strong enough for hard wark. I was offered a job yesterday but it was too hard. I am not strong

enough to do anything harder than cut grass." "I suppose that next August he will refuse to do any work except shovel snow," growled Sergeant McNally.

HAGERSTOWN. Ind., Oct. 10. Miss Tena Wise, 61, died at her home here Sunday night. She has suffered with cancer for many weeks-. : She leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary Bales, of near Olive Branch church, and two brothers, Levi Wise of Anderson, and Henry Wise, of Middletown. Miss Wise joined the Brethren church when twelve .years of age and was faithful until death. The funeral will be held at the Church of the Brethren near town Wednesday at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will be in the Brethren cemetery. The funeral services will be conducted by Elder Studebaker of Muncie.
