THE RICHMOND PALLADIUM AND SUN-TELEGRAM, SATURDAY, OCT. 7, 1916 BELIEVES HEAVEN IS INSIDE HEART " Violet Mersereau in "The Narrow Path," at the Lyric Sunday. There are some forty 'leven million people in the world who would like to travel life's pathway with dainty Violet Mersereau, and it is safe to say that all of them will travel with her for an hour or so when the opportunity is presented in this beautiful play. . Violet believed that heaven Is a warm little spot Inside and that it is largely of our own making. And the belief helped a lot, for she lived with a drunken father in the slums, and happiness had to be brought from somewhere. So she danced to the hand organ music, and grew graceful and sweet without much thought of the future. piiiiiiiiiiiifli It
DANCES IN DIANA SHOW FINE GRACE
"Diana" at the Palace tonight. I The producers have achieved an ar- ! tistlc triumph every moment In this ) drama is an exquisite picture in itself. ( The nymphs, in their classic dancing, I present a symphony in grace and motion, which reaches its artistic climax ' in the mist dance and the fine art ( poses from the Old Masters. The appearance of Diana and Apollo before the Court of Jupiter will bring ' to mind the exquiste coloring of AlmaTadema. The punishment visited upon Acteon by Diana, for his intrusion at the bath, his tragic fate, transformed ; Into a stag, pursued and finally dei stroyed by his own hunters and dogs, t will inspire the most exacting seeker of tragic-psychology.
MISS BROCKWELL PLAYS OPPOSITE WILLIAM FARNUM
Gladys Brockwell is charmed with the part she has to play in William Fox's new photoplay, "The End of the Trail" at the Murrette Monday. Miss Brockwell is Adrlenne Cabot, the woman whose yearning for true love finds realization . only a short time before death. The part contains the power of stirring the heart with deep emotion, and the eyes with tears. "I have always wanted to play such a woman," says Miss Brockwell. "To act opposite William Farnum is an added pleasure."

TO ADDRESS MEN ON TWILIGHT SLEEP
PEACE DABMOND, Path IN "THE SHIELD ING SHADOW"
STORY OF LOVE TOLD BY PICTURE
She had never known a mother's love, or love of any type for the matter of that. Her father had reared her a botanist, like himself, and she had traveled the world over. When this girl met a flirtatious young man who
had spent his young life making love to every pretty girl who would listen to him, their widely diverging natures awoke a strangely irresistible appeal. These points demonstrate only a few of the unusual elements that conspire to make "Little Eve Edgarton, at the Washington theatre, where Ella Hall and Herbert Rawlinson will appear Sunday and Monday.
The men of this city refuse to be discriminated against. They have been barred from the Washington
theatre, where lectures on Twilight
Sleep, the painless method of child birth, have been given by Mrs. Robert B. Liggett of St. Paul, who is conducting an educational campaign among women, to demand that science do something to relieve the danger and suffering incident to motherhood. At each of the women's lectures, requests have come from the audience that husbands be allowed to come and hear the talk and see the motion pictures which illustrate It, and Mrs. Liggett has consented to give a "men only" lecture tonight.
