When You Wash Your Hair Don't Use Soap

Most soaps and prepared shampoos

intain too much alkali, which is very

ijurious, as it dries the scalp and

akes the hair brittle. The best thing to use is just plain ulsifled cocoanut oil, for this is pure

nd entirely greasless. It's very cheap nd beats soaps or anything else all

pieces. You can get this at any rug store, and a few ounces will last le whole family for months.

Simply moisten the hair with water

hd rub it in. about a teaspoonful is

1 that is required. It makes an j umdance of rich, creamy lather, i eanses thoroughly, and rinses out '

kslly. The hair dries quickly and !

ienly, and is soft, fresh looking, right, fluffy, wavy and easy to handle.

psides, It loosens and takes out every

nrtlcle of dust, dirt and dandruff.

CRITICISES COMMON ENTRANCE TO PARK AND CITES DANGER

Richmond, progressive and recognized as a leader in many respects, is careless in the matter of walks at the Glen Miller park, according to a woman who has recently moved here to make her home. This woman, whose name is withheld at her request, has the following to say regarding the entrance to the city's recreation spot: "I am a stranger here, and perhaps presuming to criticise conditions on such short acquaintance, but I was told before coming here to live that Richmond possesses considerable wealth and is an enterprising, up-to-date city. I went for the first time

PESKY

A MILLION BEDBUGS. Just think, a 25c package of the new golden chemical P. D. Q. (Pesky Devils' Quietus), is enough to make a quart and enough to kill a million bedbugs, no matter how large they may be, where they came from, their age, color or sex, and at the same time leaves a coating on their eggs and prevents hatching. CUT THIS OUT. This new chemical can be had at any first-class drug store. A 25c package makes a quart of P. D. Q., and will go farther than a barrel of old-fashioned bug killer.

It's fun to see the fleas drop off your pet dogs. KILLS CHICKEN LICE. No use for your chickens to have lice. A 25c package mixed makes a gallon of chicken lice killer. last Sunfiay to visit Glen Miller park, and was greatly surprised to find that there is no separate entrance for people who walk, but all must enter by the one road, and people on foot must take the dust of all vehicles entering, to say nothing of the nervous apprehension felt especially by those accompanied by children, many of whom are babies, and also aged people, as we all know that automobiles will skid at unexpected times and horses will shy at nothing more formidable than a piece of paper in the road. I am wondering if Richmond will not think it worth while to spend some money to make it safer and pleasanter for the 'common people' by making a separate entrance for them, free from the annoyances unavoidable where all must enter whether driving or afoot?"

SAMUEL SMILES SAID: "Whenever formed, habit acts involuntarily, and without effort. The small events of life, taken singly, may seem exceedingly unimportant, like snow that falls silently, flake by flake, yet accumulated, these snow flakes form the avalanche." It isn't the single dollar in your Savings Account that counts so much. It's forming the habits of keeping it up adding to it. Why not break the habit of spending money and form the habit of keeping it? It's for you to say what habits you will form and your success or failure is in your own hands
