Mr. Harry Morrow of Columbus, O., son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Morrow of Chester, left Wednesday for the border. i 1 Mr. Martin Jefferies of Greenville, O., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Will Morrow, near Chester, and is attending the Chautauqua.
Adding to the attractiveness of Friday's social calendar "was the party given by Miss Edith Moore at her home in West Richmond, when she entertained for Miss Helen Nichols of Virginia, "who is a gues at the Moore home. The affair was to have been a garden party but on account of the rain was held indoors. Mrs. Will Reller. presided at the tea urn. She was assisted by Miss Alice Hill, Miss Marguerite Hill, Miss Florence Shute of Pittsburg, and Miss Mary Mather. Some fifty guests were entertained.' Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Bailey and family, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Cline of Jamestown, Ohio, have returned home from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Randle, East Main street. Mr. and Mrs. Voyle Kendall, Xenia, Ohio, were guests here today enroute to Hagerstown where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Thomas for a few days. Before returning home they will visit relatives in Kokomo.
Mrs. Frank Kinert and Miss Dorothy Ryan are leaving Monday for Indianapolis to attend the Marshall-Mead wedding, Tuesdy evening. "
A theatre party, to see "Molly-Make-Bel leve" at the Murrette was given last evening by Misses Bernice Puckett and Mildred Parker in honor of Misa Lela Manford, who leaves Sunday for Cincinnati. After the performance the guests were served at Price's. The party was composed of Misses Florence Spaulding, Rose Ferling. Mildred Parker, Blanche Compton, Nola Russell. Hazel Mashmeyer, Lela Manford, Mildred Parker, Edna Dickinson and Mrs. J. L. Blossom. Evelyn Rebekah lodge, No. 322. Cenfprvillp, will hold its annual picnic at Jackson park, Sunday, September 10. All members and familips and sojourning membrrs of subordinate lodges and families are invited. There will be a home-coming and neighborhood picnic Monday at the Gaar farm. The guests are asked to bring well-filled baskets, as dinner and supper will be served. Rev. and Mrs. E. E. Davis will return Tuesday from Van Wert, Ohio. They have been spending some time at Winona Lake. The Electa club of thf Royal Neighbors spent the dav Friday with Mrs. May Shrnker at hor home on Easthaven farm. A chicken dinner was served. Miss Miriam Kelly returned today from James Lake, where she has been spending the summer.

shower last evening at her home, on North A street. Garden flowers and ferns were used in ornamenting the rooms. The wedding colors, yellow and white, were used in decorating. The guests spent the evening socially and with music and games. The bride-elect received many pretty pieces of linen. Late in the evening an elaborate collation was served. The
guests were Misses Margaret Clingenpeel, Helen Lenerton, Margaret Kamp,
Marie O'Brien, Rhea Turner, Jeannette Sullivan, Nell Gordon, Marie Duwane, Mary Gordon and Thelma Zuttermeister.
Miss Katherine Carr, who has been spending the summer with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carr in Kansas City, will return home-Sunday.
Mrs. R. W. Randle was hostess last evening for a meeting of the Young People's Branch of the Mary F. Thomas W. C. T. II. at her home on East Main street. Friday evening, September 15, the union will meet and election of officers will be held. The place will be announced later. Miss Frances Kinde- leaves Sunday to spend her vacation with Miss Augusta Umbstead at Frankfort, Ind. In Indianapolis she will be entertained by her brother, Mr. Ray Kinder. Misses Katherine and Mary Sharkey returned today from a business trip to Chicago and points in Michigan. Miss Tauline Dillingham of Decatur, III., who has been spending the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Young. Cornell apartments, returned home today. Mr. Leslie Easterling of Porto Rico, is the guest of Miss Edith Moore for the week-end at her home in West Richmond. Mr. . Robert Lyons arrived from Mercer, Wisconsin, where he has been spending the summer. In two weeks he leaves for Indiana university.
Mrs. Ada Converse, Mr. Blair Converse and Miss Mary Converse of Wisconsin, are in the city for a few days.
In honor of several guests Mrs. Will Reller is giving an informal tea Monday afternoon at her home, South Fifteenth street.
Miss Mary Canby will arrive home Sunday after an extended trip through the east.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shaw and daughter Miss Elizabeth of Indianapolis, will spend the coming week the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Swisher and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shaw.

Master John Rupe of Kansas City, who will celebrate his birthday anniversary Labor Day, Mrs. Frank Williams gave a party at the Murrette, last evening to see Marguerite Clark in "Molly-Make-Believe." The guests were Masters Richard Harrington, Ross Harrington, Edward Phillips, Frederick Phillips, John Rupe. After the picture the party was served at Dickinson's. Miss June Smith of New Castle, a sister of Mrs. Walker Land has gone to Lake Wawasee for a visit. The annual reunion of the Bond family will be held Tuesday in Glen Miller park. All members and friends are invited to attend. Dinner will be served at the noon hour.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Smith and family who for several years had a residence on North Seventeenth street, have gone to Cincinnati, where they will reside permanently. Their many friends regret to see them leave. Court Richmond Order of Foresters met last evening in the Commercial club rooms and considered a number of important business matters. Later there was a social hour and refreshments were served.

The following social functions will feature the coming week and will be given in honor of Miss Thelma Zuttermeister, a bride-elect: Monday evening, Mrs. Earnest Renk is giving a linen shower; Tuesday evening Miss Nell Gordon gives a shower and on Wednesday evening. Misses Pearl Cully and Katherine Reilly will give a handkerchief shower. Several events will be given before the wedding, September 12. Extending courtesy to their guest Mrs. Brook of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. J. Edward Moore and Miss Lucile Mayr entertained In a charming manner, Friday afternoon at their home, North C street. Delicious refreshments were served. The guests included members of the neighborhood. On account of the inclemency of the weather the dance was not given last evening at Cliff Dale auto club.
A dance will be given next week and the Emery Saxophone orchestra will play. Miss Lela Manford will leave Sunday for Cincinnati, where 6he will resume her studies after spending the summer with her parents. There were guests present to fill six tables Friday afternoon when a card party was given in the Eagles' hall. Similar parties will be held again next week. An attractive social function of the week is the benefit card party announced for Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Dudley Foulke for the benefit of the day nursery and to defray expenses during the month of September. The game will begin at 2 o'clock. During the afternoon the Hick's orchestra will play and persons who do not care for cards may bring their needlework. Mrs. H. H. Huntington is chairman of the committee in charge. Refreshments will be served. The sum of fifty cents will be asked each guest. As this is one of the large social func
tions so far announced for the week no doubt it will be largely attended. All club women of the city who are interested are cordially invited 'to attend.
