Ab announcement of more than usual Interest to persons in this city was made recently in Grand Rapids, Michigan when the betrothal of Miss Agnes Williams, daughter of George H. Williams of Grand Rapids, to Mr. H, A. LeMay, of Cleveland, Ohio, was made known. The wedding will be an important nuptial event of October. Miss Williams attended school In this city and while a resident made her home with her grandmother. She is the niece of Mrs. Lewis Kluter, North B street, and has a host of friends who wish her happiness. She has also visited in this city for the last few summers. Mrs. Melville Shute and children, Master Myron and Miss Betty Jane, are leaving Wednesday for Dayton, where they will visit relatives. Saturday they will be Joined by Mr. Shute
who will spend the week end m Day ton.
Mr. Frank Duning returned this
morning from Chicago, where he visited friends for several days. The Tirzah aid society of the Ben Hur lodge will meet Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Howard Frame, North Nineteenth street, instead of meeting with Mrs. Powell. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown gave a dinner at their home on South Eleventh street Sunday in honor of Mrs. Roy Kelly of Davenport, Iowa. Those present were: Messrs and Mesdames Charles Turner, William Spotts, Mrs. Roy Kelly, Mrs. Ben Reddinghnus, Mr. Frank Brown. Mr. George Wilson, Misses Myrtle Wilson, Ruth lirown, Josephine Spotts, Alice Brown, Mclva Turner and Masters John and Robert Brown. The Elfctra club of the Royal Neighbors will meet Thursday, August 31 with Mrs. Mary Stickler, near Earlham. All members and friends who expect to attend are asked to meet at the corner of Eighth and Main streets at 9:30 o'clock. The Mary F. Thomas W. C. T. U. met In business session Monday afternoon at the Morrison-Reeves Library. Mrs. Nelle Barnard read the scripture lesson. Ms. Katherine Craft offered prayer. Reports as follows were made: Flower and Relief, twelve boquets, three meals, Fix visits to the sick, twenty-three dollars in money, ten notices in the paper, three hundred pages of literature. The meeting was closed with the temperance doxology. Monday afternoon. September 11 an election of officers will be held at the Morrison-Reeves library. A dance will be given Friday evening at Cliff Dale Auto club. All persons who have been accustomed to attend these parties are invited to be present. The dancing will begin at 8:30 o'clock.
