BESSIE VIGKERSHAM ENTERTAINS FRIENDS TO BIRTHDAY PARTY

WEBSTER, Aug. 22. Miss Bessie Wlckersham gave a birthday party at the home of her uncle, Mr. Charles Wilson, west of Richmond. Games and music afforded the entertainment. Refreshments of Ice cream and cake were served at a late hour. Those present were Misses Ruth Myers, Richmond, Ruth Crampton, Chester, Luclle Williams, Bessie Wlckersham, Juanita Hendershott, Helen Harvey, Lessle Williams, Frances Harvey, Gladis Williams, Pauline Wickersham, Mable Wlckersham, Mildred Wilson and Messrs. Ralph Kern,Frank Williams, Charles Myers, Cecil Williams, Ralph Hendershott, Horatio King Laun McFarland, George Davis, Mrs. D. Russell and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McMinn. Come From Illinois Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beeson and children, Norman and Mary Elma, Mr. and Mrs. -A. L. Baldwin and daughter, Mrs. Walter Oliver of Harvey, 111., epent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hodgin of Lynn Albert Stolen is visiting his mother at Bentonville Misses Ruth Myers and Freda Borton, of Richmond, spent Sunday with Miss Juanita Hendershott Morris Ball of Cambridge City Is visiting relatives of this place.

COATLESS PREACHER SPEAKS IN COMFORT

MILTON. Ind., Aug. 22. During August the Loyal Men's class of the Christian Sunday school has charge of the opening and closing exercises. A special feature, Sunday morning, was a beautiful piano solo by Miss Marie Harmier. Next Sunday Albert Anderson will conduct the school. Fair sized congregations attended church services, notwithstanding the extreme heat. All. formal etiquette in the evening was disregarded and the men without exception were coatless, which includes those in the choir and the Rev. F. C. McCormick.

ENTERTAINS FAMILY AT BIRTHDAY DINNER

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., Aug. 22. Mrs. Angeline Ingerman celebrated her seventy-ninth birthday anniversary by entertaining her children and grandchildren. The guests Included Mr. and Mrs. John Ingerman and children of MUton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ingerman and daughter Velma, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ingerman and sons Warren and Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ingerman and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Stombaugh and sons and Mr. John Gilllnger.

MILTON, Ind., Aug. 22. Mrs. Will Hicks, of south of town, Mrs. Clyde Miller of east of town, and Miss Mae Keever of Dayton, entertained at the home of Mrs. W. W. Leverton, mother of the bride-to-be, Miss Ruth Leverton, at a miscellaneous shower, Saturday afternoon. The house was tastefully decorated in white lilies and pink blossoms the color scheme being white and qlnk, with drapings and dainty festoons done in the colors. There were present about 38 guests, those from away being Mesdames Hobart Wiggins, Alice Wiggins, Oscar Thompson, of Richmond; Miss Adra Lewis of Dayton and Miss Edna Crull of Rushville. The afternoon was delihtfully spent in music and contests. Mrs. M. S. Taylor gave as a solo the old time song, "Ben Bolt;" Miss Ruth Kimmel gave as a piano solo, "The Sweet By and By," with variations. Mrs. L. E. Thompson gave a vocal solo; Mesdames Earnest Doty and Hobart Wiggins each gave lovely piano solos.

CAMBRIDGE TEACHERS ATTEND INSTITUTE

STREET BONDS SOLD

Oxford, 0 Aug. 22. Council yesterday sold $15,000 street improvement bonds, running from 1924 to 1931 and bearing 4Vi interest, to Weil, Roth & Co., Cincinnati, at their bid of $180 preumium and accrued interest. Council will meet this evening to open bids for the paving of High street.

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., Aug. 22. The teachers of the local schools and those of the township schools are in Richmond this week in attendance at the Chautauqua.

Sorority Entertained Miss Helen Mitchell entertained the Delta Theta Tau sorority and its pledges at a "Sheret Party" at her home Monday afternoon Mrs. J. A. Stevens returned home Saturday from a visit with relatives in Indianapolis and Martinsville.
