CROWDS ATTEND CENTENNIAL DAY AT DODDRIDGE
MILTON. Ind., Aug. 15. A large crowd attended the Doddridge annual home coming and centennial services on Sunday. In the mornipg. the Rev. F. M. Westhafer, a former pastor of the charge, gave the sermon, and iu the afternoon the Rev. Dr. Bacon, superintendent of the district, gave the quarterly sermon and administered the Lord's Supper. The services throughout the series were excellent. The beet accounts of the early history of this township, tell us that Philip Doddridge and his family came from Washington County, Pennsylvania, and settled in the eastern part of this township, about April 14, 1810. He took up a large tract of land and in time settled his family on farms from this tract. 'Other branches also came on and the Doddridge families were numerous and so the settlement became known as the Doddridge Settlement and at last for short, became Doddridge. Philip Doddridge and his wife were enthusiastic Methodist people and in time a class was formed and in 1S16 Philip Doddridge donated the ground for a church and cemetery from his own farm. It was located very near the western boundary of the township. Mr. Doddridge also helped to build the hewed log house that was put up for the Meeting House, which became known as Doddridge Chapel. In 1S30 this building was replaced by a brick structure and in 1876, the present building was improved and today is an up-to-date church edifice, with a modern lighting plant of its own. It is surrounded with beautiful shade trees of the forest and has in connection with its grounds, the ancient cemetery to which has been added a monument. The church is approached from the western side by a hill, the top of which it graces. The church is surrounded by a wealthy Just the Thing for Diarrhoea "About two years ago I had a severe attack of diarrhoea which lasted over a week." writes W. C. Jones, Buford, N. D. "I became so weak that I could not stand upright. A druggist recommended Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. The first dose relieved me and within two days I was as well as ever." Many druggists recommend this remedy because they know that it is reliable. Obtainable everywhere. Adv. DRUNKARDS KILL WOMEN Hope for Those In the Clutches of the Demon Drink Free Prescription Which Can Be Prepared and Secretly Administered at Home. It is a fact that drunkenness has cauted more murders and leaser crimes than any other one thing. You ran follow the life of the criminal and almost invariably his crime can be traced to alcohol In some form. Many who drink just a little now ntid then feel secure iu their belief that they can stop whenever they want to. It 19 a rare thing when one Is found who has the will power to stop of his own accord. You can form no idea of the terrible suffering a confirmed drunkard is forced to undergo hea he tries to get along without his accustomed stimulant. He needs something to overcome the desire; something to calm the nerves and take away the awful craving. There Is a harmless remedy which has recently created a sensation on account of its wonderful effect upon those who drink. This marvelous remedy is as simple as it is effective and a trial will prove that it will destroy the appetite for liquor. If you have tried other remedies without success do not despair, but have this prescription filled and you will be astonished at the results. Since it is tasteless, odorless and col orless, it can be secretly given to those you wish to treat and they need never know what caused them to lose their desire for alcohol. Here is the prescription: Go to Clem Thistlethwaite or any first class druggist and get powdered tescum. Put one tescum powder twice each day in any food or drink coffee, tea or milk and its presence cannot be detected. It contains no habit-forming drug and you need not fear to use it. . If your druggist cannot supply you. drop a line to H. J. Brown. Beckman building. Cleveland. Ohio, and he will tell you who can. The prescription has saved many a man from a drunkard' grave and the quick results it gives is a pleasure and delight to those who try it. If you know any one who drinks to excess you better cut this out and send it to one of his friends iand you may be the means of starting someone on the rightjroad.-Adv. ,

citizenship and in the locality Methodism prevails. The church is said to be the largest membership of a country congregation and numbers between 200 and 200. It is the origin of Methodism in the township. It belongs to the Indiana Conference and forms the country appointment of Milton M. E. charge.
