JOHN J. XAWJBS,

If you wish to settle a dispute recarding some point in the record of any baseball player since 1889, all you have to do is to refer to Mr. John Lawrcs of Milwaukee who has the figures on more than 25,000 ball play

ers who have appeared on the major

ana minor league circuits in the past 27 years. Lawres, who was born in Sheldon, New York, forty-three years ago, decided In 18S9 that he would keep a record of ball players to settle the many disputes arising over the New York Giants, of that year. He became fascinated with the work and from year to year has added to his records and kept them up to date. ' He keeps records of all the major and minor. league teams on which he can gather statistics.

o

For Friday, Saturday and Monday Only of These Handsome $32.50 Genuine Spanish Leather iVelour and Tapestry Rockers FOR

$3.00 Gash, $1.00 Weekly IT WAS A STIFLING HOT NIGHT last July when a dozen or more men gathered in a room at the Hotel Pantlind at Grand Rapids. The furniture exposition was on, and the whole day had been spent going from one manufacturer's exhibit to another, and they were tired out. But the first thing every man said as he entered the room was, "Did you see those Rockers ?

"THE GREATEST BUY OF THE WHOLE MARKET 1 " That was the opinion of every man. The maker's representative was at the hotel a call was placed for him, and in a few minutes he joined this group of men. No time was wasted in getting down to business.

"WHAT WILL YOU SELL THESE ROCKERS FOR IF

WE TAKE 1,000 ROCKERS?

That question couldn't be answered off hand telegraph wires were set to work at 10:30 all the terms were arranged and the greatest value of the market came our way at even less than the price that was the sensation of the show, because we, buying with 21 other stores, took a thousand rockers.

THE ACTUAL VALUE OF THESE ROCKERS IS $12 MORE THAN THE SELLING PRICE You could search all over this city and not find a Rocker that ; could compare with these in appearance, material or construc1 tion selling under $30 to $35. Our reputation for honesty in advertising, is back of that statement. THEY ARE JUST AS YOU SEE THEM PICTURED ., They are deeply upholstered, covered with heavy brown genuine Spanish Leather, finest grade tapestry or velour; have, spring construction seats ; long rocker base ; made in one of America's leading factories. ' BUY NOW PAY LATER $3.00 delivers one of these rockers to your home, or the home of a friend, and all you need to pay each week is $1.00. This is such a remarkable bargain and sold under such convenient terms that even though our stock is unusually large, there may not be enough to satisfy the great demand that will be created for them.
