GOODWIN APPROVES SHOWS AT CARNIVAL
"There's not a thing, not a show at the carnival, that would give offense to anyone," said Chief of Police Goodwin this morning, after inspecting the
Johnny J. Jones attractions last night. "A man can safely take his wife and daughter to any or all of the shows," continued the chief who was impressed with the absence of gambling devices and oriental dancers. He confessed to city hall attaches this morning that the carnival inspired him with the first fear he had ever felt in his life. Two ferocious performing lions almost had the chief's "goat." ..
