e Miss Anna Meginnis of Baltimore, who has been visiting for the last month at the home of Mrs. W. H. Tudor, returned home Saturday. Miss Betty Tudor accompanied her and will spend six weeks at Baltimore and North Jersey coast resorts. Daniel Tudor, who is here on a visit with his parents, will leave for Baltimore next week. Miss Ruth Marlatt. who has been visiting friend3 at Williamsburg, has returned home. Miss Marie and Leonard Connerton have returned from Chicago, where they were called by the death of their uncle, John Connerton, who. formerly resided here. Miss Elizabeth Thomas is visiting with her parents at Hagerstown. She will be out of the city two weeks. Scores of persons left Richmond last night lor Michigan resorts. Mr. and Mrs. Gaar Williams, of Indianapolis, well known here, are spending their vacation at Ocean City, N. Hungerford at his home, 820 North Twenty-second street, in honor of his twenty-fourth birthday anniversary, Sunday evening. A ; color scheme of red and white prevailed while rose buds in the same colors were used to decorate the dining room. Those present were 'Messrs. and Mesdames Fred Knight of Fountain City; Edward Savage, fEarl Savage and daughter, Lois, of ! Hagerstown; W. R. Hungerford and ' R. L. Hungerford, and Miss Arba Wicikersham. Miss Edith and Master Ed- : ward Savage, Miss Mary Lahrman, IMr. Howard Elutro. Miss Sarah Mote. I Mrs. Charles M. JcnMns will leave for Bay View, Mich., soon. Hartman on North E street. Mrs. I. N. Lamb of this city in company with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Lamb, of New York.Meft for New York City this morning. Mrs. Lamb will visit with Eastern relatives for several weeks. About' fifty of A. P. Duf field's friends and neighbors surprised him on his thirty-fifth birthday yesterday at his home near Gettysburg, Ohio. Those present were Mrs. William Mull, Miss Helen Davis, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Deem and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Reid and family, all of Richmond, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Richards of Glen Karn, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wenger of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Pence and family of West Newton, Ohio. The Earlham Heights Sunday school will hold an Ice Cream social Thursday evening, August 3, on the lawn at the residence of Frank B. Unthank, National Road, West, opposite Charles avenue. Miss Florence Ratliff of Richmond Avenue, has returned from a six weeks , course at the University of Chicago, and will spend the rest of the summer with her parents in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hauenstein and son, Kent, of Bluffton, O., are spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. William Romey. An automobile party from Lewisburg, O., consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ford, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mollett and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Althaus and families visited with Mr. and Mrs. William Romey yesterday and had a picnic lunch at Glen Miller park.
