WARM DAYS BOOM DIFFERENT TRADES
July'B hot wave has brought a general boom to business. The usually dull July has become a season of great activity, except for those merchants whose trade naturally would retard by hot days. But, practically all the shopping is done In the morning. Business is helped because the hot weather forces seasonable buying ata time when people usually 6top trading. Here are the lines which are mostly helped: Light weight shoes, cigars,
dairy products, dry goods, laundry, beer, ice cream, clothing, drugs, hotels. These are injured: House painting, meats, plumbing, insurance, groceries, flowers and ccal.

COURT HOUSE COOL DESPITE GREAT HEAT
One place in Richmond Is immune from electric fans. This is the court house. Not a single buzz can be heard there. Despite the fact that there are no artificial coolers in the building there is always a good breeze and every one who makes his bread and butter working there is as "cool as a cucumber." When the temperature is 108 on the outside it is never more than eighty in the court house. The thick walls keep the heat out.
