towards purchasing an elephant for Glen Miller park at the meeting of the

Boytown council last night, all mem

bers of the council expressed their opinion that such a project would be

a good thing for the city la a conversation before the meeting was called to order. Most of the councllmen are in favor of a fund being established so that children of the city as well as older people can donate small sums toward (the purchase price of a Jungle monster. Floyd Nusbaum made known that 'he would bring the proposition before 'the council of Boytown at the next meeting. Paul Llchtenfels, J. Glenn jKempton, Roland W. Farwig, Clem ;Roberts and Harry Steinbrink will ;vote in favor of the purchase. f Although William Warren Elliott would not declare himself on such 'short notice, he said that the proposal 'sounded good to him. Joseph Swearinger will assist Councilman Nusbaum in fighting any opposition. He will ,e backed up by Byron Wettig, Raymond Williams and Charles Yager.

NEW PARIS, O., July 28. All the loyal "Grangers" of this township journeyed to New Madison Tuesday where a big field meet of Preble and Darke County Granges was held, which was addressed during the day by the highest officer of the Grange in the United States. Picnic dinner was served at noon and was much enjoyed.
