SEEK HEAT RELIEF BY PLUNGES IN POOL With over 200 persons "seeking relief from the heat in the waters of Hawkins' pond each night, the facilities at the beach are crowded to capacity, said Manager Parker today. Many more lockers are needed. Mr. Parker explained that failure of the Morton Lake and Park company to clean the mud off the bottom of the Morton beach prevented opening that pool where locker rooms are ample. Parker aUo announced that the pool would close each Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock. CUPID LEADS WITH RACE DIVORCE COURT Twice as many marriage licenses as divorces have been granted in Wayne county so far this month. The record now shows that the standing is sixteen to eight During the last few days of the month, however, Dan Cupid will have a chance to increase his lead in the race with the divorce germ because Judge Fox announced this morning that unless something very Important comes up between now and August 1, there will be no more court until August SO. "He also said that he would not consider divorces as important , IN ANIMAL LAND. Pelican -Where are you going- with that hat box, Doc? Been buying a hat for the Missus? De Hingo Hat nothing! f KUKTCH BRINGS WHIP HERE Among the absolutely new entertainments which Mr. Jones offers this year is a brand new riding device never seen before except in Luna Park at New York's Coney Island, called The Whip. It is freely predicted that every man, woman and child in Richmond and vicinity will have ridden the "Whip" before the Druids' Carnival is over Those who have seen the device in operation aver that it is more sensational than the big roller coasters or shooting-chutes which prevail in the large city parks. RICHEY APPOINTED TRUSTEE OF MIAMI OXFORD, O., July 28. Governor Willis' appointment of Samuel W.
