Michael CruLl, a life-long resident of this community, was overcome by the ieat on his farm south of town Mon
day evening while leaning against a
fence to rest, and expired within a few minutes. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
Franklin church. The widow.' one
daughter, Mre. Lee Hartman, one grandchild. Miss Mabel Hartman, of Germantown, and three brothers, Jacob and George of Williamsburg, and William of Pinhook, survive him.

Eaton, Ohio, July 26. To fill an eleven days' engagement, the Eaton Commercial Club band will go to Miami Valley Chautauqua next Friday. The band will be directed by Prof. Earl W. Young, who has been at the head of the organization for the last two seasons. Never haB Preble county boasted a musical organization that attained a plane so high as Is held by this band.

ATTENDS FUNERAL
OF J. L.
Hagerstown, Ind., July 26. Mrs. Helen Knapp attended the funeral of her father, J. L. , Miller at Chicago, Saturday, and she and her baby Audrey will return to their-hame here this week. Her father's services were held at the chapel and the body cremated, according to hie urgent request. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, two daughter, Mrs. -Knapp of this place, Mrs. Florence Kinzey of Elgin, 111., and four sons, Harry, Loren and Earl, of Chicago, and Howard of Waterloo, Iowa. The widow, Mrs. Miller, who formerly lived here, will go to Iowa t live with her son.
VINCENT NICHOLSON IS HOME.
Vincent Nicholson, son of S. Edgar Nicholson, returned from New York this morning to spend his vacation with his parents in this city. Mr. Nicholson is a member of a New York law firm.
