TOUNTAIN CITY, Ind., July 19 Entertained at the home of Roland Shoemaker, Sunday, were Mr. and Mr. J. W. Shoemaker, Mr. F. W. Lacey and family, Ed Shoemaker, Roland Shoemaker and family. Russell Hlatt, wife and son of Modoc spent Sunday here. Several attended the all day meeting held at the Willow Grove park Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gifford Hunt and little on of Connersville are spending a week's vacation here. Mr. Shldler and family of Shidler, and Add Mercer and family were Sunday guests of John Mercer and wife. Robert Thomas was recently visiting in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pickett and children were dinner guests of Asa Pitts Sunday. Frank Taylor and wife, J. B. Chenoweth and wife and William Cooper and family were dinner guests of Joseph Skinner and jiamily Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Boren attended the Vanniug reunion at Union City Sunday. HARDING FAMILY HOLDS REUNION

BETHEL. Ind., Jully 19. The annual reunion of the Harding family was held Sunday at the home of John Harding. At noon dinner was served on the lawn under the large maples. In the afternoon ice cream and cake were served. OVERCOME BY HEAT FIGHTING FIELD FIRE

NEW PARIS. O., July 19. Charles Blllman lost 190 shocks of wheat Saturday by fire, a passing railroad train throwing off sparks which caused the fire. The stubborn blaze was fought by neighboring farmers and M. J. Cunningham, section foreman, and his men, but their efforts availed but little, Mr. Billman and a number of others were overcome by the intense heat during the fire-fighting.

SOCIAL OPENS GARAGE

NEW PARIS, 0., July 19. The festival held Saturday evening by the ladies of the Presbyterian church in the beautiful room of the Murray Brothers garage and salesroom, was a success, the midsummer weather causing a demand for. their offerings. Through the courtesy of the Starr Piano company, a Starr phonograph discoursed music throughout the evening. The ladies are very grateful to the Messrs. Murray for the use of their room as well as to the Starrs for their courtesy. The affair was a house-warming for the Murray's new business, cards being distributed during the evening to all comers.
