PENNVILLE SCHOOL WILL HOLD REUNION AT JACKSON'S PARK

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind.. July 18. The reunion of the Pennville school will be held Saturday, August 6. in Jackson park; Prof .E. E. Oldaker, president; Mrs. H. A. Compton. secretary; Mrs. Compton, Mrs. Sowers and Miss Mabel Hartman, program committee. Moves to New Home. Forty years ago, Saturday, J. I. Cannon, moved into the home which he had erected on Pottawotomie street. . . . .Mr. Cannon came with his parents from North Carolina to Indiana, when he was but three years of age, residing first In Dublin, and since in Cambridge City.... .Notwithstanding the Intense heat, people are going to the Chautauqua. " At the Youth's Chautauqua, both Friday and Saturday, several new features were introduced among which were Gold Ball, and Fox and the Hound, each one having its real value.

Green of Dayton, and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Green and children of Richmond, spent Sunday here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Green Mr. and Mrs. Lee Izor of Dayton, spent Saturday and Sunday with his parrnts. Mr. and Mrs. Ira F. Izor. east of Eaton Miss Treva and Ivalou Eikelbarger of Gordon, spent Sunday here with their sister, Miss Margaret Elckelbarger An automobile occupied by Dr. and Mrs. James I. Nisbet collided with an interurban car early Sunday evening at a point on West Main street. Neither suffered any injuries and the car. was only slightly damaged Another of a series of union meetings arranged by the churches of the city was held Sunday evening at First U. B. church. The sermon was preached by Rev. J. C. Shaw of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal church.

Major General Scott, chief of the Army General staff is making inquiry into the circumstances attending the action of Major General Leonard Wood, commanding the Eastern Military department, in ordering the discharge from the Federal service of Colonel Conley and Lieutenant Col. Phelan of the 69th New York Regiment on the ground that they had been physically disqualified for military duty. It is said that the President is taking the personal interest matter and wishes all the facts ascertained. :
