A family dinner was given at noon at lis home on Front street, at which places were arranged for Mr. and Mrs. Cary, Mr. and Mrs. George Cary, and laughters, the Misses Louise, and Fredrlka of Muncle, and Miss Jennie McGrew Cary. Friends Call In Afternoon. During the afternoon, a number of friends called to offer congratulations, and In the evening members of Wayne lodge. No. 17, I. O. O. f., of which Mr Cary has been a continuous member since 1857, called to add their good wishes. Wesley Cornell, on behalf of the fraternity, presented Mr. Cary with a substantial gift in gold. Mr. Cary is the oldeBt member of the fraternity in Cambridge City, and one of the oldest In the state.

ASK $2,000 DAMAGED FOR BRIDGE SITE

Demand for $2,000 damages for condemnation of property to be used as a bridge site on the west bank of the river, at South G street, was filed with the board of public works today by Jonathan and Anna Evans. The board had awarded them $200 damages for the condemnation of this property. Over fifty South Fifth street property owners attended the board meeting to remonstrate against the action of the board in assessing the entire cost of the Bouth end bridge site again6t South Fifth street property owners.

NEW MINISTER TAKES CHARGE irl GERMANTOWN

EAST GERMANTOWN, Ind., July 11. An all day meeting was held Sunday at Zion's Lutheran church, East Germantown, celebrating the installation of the new pastor, the Rev. F. M. Hanes. The morning service was the solemn and impressive installation service, the Rev. C. L. Warstler of Whitestown, Ind., president of the Chicago Synod, officiating. The sermon was a powerful practical discourse on "The Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin," Luke, 15:14-10. Dinner was served at the Parish House by the Ladies Aid society of Zion's congregation, the Willing Workers. About a hundred sat down to the feast of good things prepared by them. At 3 o'clock, the afternoon services were held at which the Rev. Warstler again preached a masterful sermon, his theme being, "Knowledge, Hope and Power," based, on Eph. 1:15-23. Both services Vere well attended by members and friends, a large delegation being present from the Millville congregation of the parish. The newly installed pastor was recently ordained at the convention of the Chicago Synod held at Detroit. He is a native of Southern Illinois but received a part of his education in Indiana. He is an alumnus of Weidner College, Mulberry, Ind., of the class of '13, and of the Chicago Lutheran Theological Seminary at Chicago of the class of '16. ,
