CONCRETE ROAD ASKED BY MEN AFTER MEETING ECONOMY, Ind., July 11. The Boosters' club rood roads meeting Saturday evening was an enthusliastic one and Monday, petitions were being circulated among the tax payers to see how many are In favor of concfete road through Economy. There are but few against it. There are no public improvements, but what have more or less opposition. Good roads are like autos: they are becoming more popular each year. Ray Daugherty has bought Atkinson ft Son's big motor truck. Park Hunt brought his son, Irwin Hunt home from Modoc Sunday after noon where he had been visiting his grand parents the past few days. E. services Sunday follows: At tendance at Sunday school, 185; col lection, $4.02. Rev. Ballard's morning subject, "A Touch of His Hand." Rev, Morria Ballenger.:. 28,1 of Oklahoma, preached the evening sermon, subject: "What Price Would You Pay For Your Soul?" The church was filled to hear Rev. Mr. Ballenger deliver a splendid sermon. Several said It was the best sermon they had heard for a long time. The W. C. T. U. Society meet Tues day afternoon at the church at 2 o'clock. Their state president speaks at the church Wednesday night. The Brotherhood meets Friday night at the church. Miss Mary Ballenger will give a musical recital Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. MANY SCREECH OWLS PESTER PEDESTRIANS OXFQRD, O., July 10. Never in the history of Oxford have screech owls been so numerous as this summer. In Miami university campus, and the south side of town, they have become a nuisance. A number of nocturnal jtedestrians report having been attacked and had their hats knocked off by parent owls fearing harm to their young. Miss Freeman Improves. The condition of Miss Martha Freeman, recently assaulted by A. H. Gray, farmer, is reported to be greatly improved, and it is now believed that she 13 out of danger. From Hamilton word comes that Gray, who was shot and beaten In the head by Deputy Marshal Ducrr, is in a more serious condition than at first supposed.
