Protests have come from persons living all over the country to the proposition to sell the buildings of the historic Friends Bloomlngdale academy and to unite their efforts to obtain a consolidated high school for the township. Much of the opposition comes from alumni of the Institution, many of j whom have attained both wealth and j prominence. The academy was founded in 184ft and became famous under j the leadership of Barnabas C. Hobbs j at a time when educational facilities ! in Indiana were meager. Jhe trustees , believe that to conj tlnue the institution longer Is to cause unnecessary expense to the I Friends church.
