An all-day meeting was held at the Friends church at Chester last Sunday. Children's day cervices were held Sunday evening at Jilddleboro. An excellent program was given, and the attendance was large. The College Hill Sunday school will hold its annual Fourth of July picnic Tuesday at Reid's springs. Everyone come and bring well-filled baskets. The teachers training class for this school has Just finished the study of the life of Christ, and will take up the lives of the apostles in connection with the early church. Ohio, Miss Edith Heanlag, Miss Edith Pinnick, Mrs. Shute and Mr. Ernest Witt were special guests of the club. The table was appointed with flowers and ferns, rambler rosea being in evidence. Supper was served at 6 o'clock. The year books of the club were distributed to members. Miss H. M. Jones left today for Ogden, Utah, where she will spend the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marchant and family and Mr. and Mrs. Halcey Marchant and family. Miss Nettie Berg entertained members of the Sunshine Crochet club yesterday afternoon at her home. Guests of the club were Mrs. Greenhoff and Miss Marie Deuker. Refreshments
were served. In two weeks Mrs. Joseph Meyer entertains the club. Social aid members of the Reid Memorial U. P. church were pleasantly entertained yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Everett Ogborn. The hours were spent socially and with music and games. Garden flowers and ferns appointed the rooms. Mrs. D. W. Stott, Mrs. Ogborn and Miss Menke were guests. A dainty luncheon was served. In two weeks a picnic will be held at the home of Mrs. Campbell in Hamilton, Ohio. Mrs. Campbell is a former member.

Richmond members of the various railroad brotherhoods were today balloting on the Question of whether the brotherhoods should submit their demand for an eight hour work day to an arbitration tribunal or whether the trainmen should go out on strike in an effort to enforce their demands. MI believe eighty per cent of the local trainmen will vote to strike," said one well known railroad man today. It was also learned that officers of the Richmond division located here have been urging the trainmen to vote so that there will be a representative expression of opinion. Several hundred ballots will be cast in Richmond. Railroaders state that in the event of a strike no disorders will result

EATON, O . June 30. Ivan J. Dove, who was captain of the first Ohio National Guard company enlisted in Eaton, has returned from Philadelphia and will become second lieutenant of Dayton's crack machine gun company. His family resides in Philadelphia, where he is a representative of a large steam pump concern. Howard Rinehart, famed Dayton aviator, married Dove's eldest daughter.
BRAKEMAN IS INJURED
While coupling cars on the Q. R. & I railroad at Lynn this morning. J. X. Long, 1325 Ridge street. W. R., got his loft hand caught and mashed so badly that the first, second and third fingers counting from the thumb, had to be amputated. ' After receiving slight medical attention at Lynn, he was loaded on a caboose and hurried to the Reid Memorial hospital. PLAN TO DISCONTINUE SERVICES IN EVENING

Hippie, grocer, was placed in the city calaboose Thursday night by Marshal Armstrong and, according to the arresting officer will be arraigned Friday before Mayor Foos to answer to a charge of intoxication. The alleged reckless manner in which Hippie drove an automobile was responsible for his arrest.
