r'EXiGAri CAVALRY GATHERS AT GUZMAN '. - COLUMBUS, S. M June 30. Reports of heavy concentration of Mexican cavalry in the vicinity of Guzman resulted today In several truck loads of New Mexico militiamen dashing across the international boundary and bringing back toColumbus a large number of cavalry remounts which were being sent to General Pershing. The remounts were turned back northward at Phflomax and orders Issued for a quick' reconnoissanoe of the district near the American line of communication. Censorship here does not permit details of the precautionary steps taken. Today was the first time that national guardsmen have crossed the line. - NICHOLSON CHECKS THREATENED DEBATE ON FOREIGN ACTIONS
Grievances against nations were made known at the meeting of St. Paul's brotherhood last night following the address by Bernard Knollenberg. E. G. Hill believed that England has been right in several of her acts for which she has been criticised since the war. He acknowledged, however, that it mattered not what England did, he couldn't help but think that it was alio. K.. William Klopp took . an opposite stand in his belief that Germany had been Imposed upon from the beginning. He couldn't make himself understand that Germany had ever been wrong, he explained. Finally 'Timothy Nicholson "poured oil on the troubled ! waters" by saying that the whole affair was directly. In opposition to Christianity.

BROTHERHOOD ALTERS TIME FOR ELECTIONS
Officers for the St. Paul's Lutheran Brotherhood will be elected in September instead of at the first of the year as has been the custom. This wae decided last night. The reason for this is because the year really starts In September, after the summer vacation. The president was authorized to appoint a nominating and program committee. He will anannounce his selections Sunday morning.
To Keep Skin in Fine Condition All Summer
It would be much better for the skin j if little cream, powder or rouge were jimed during the heated term. Mixed fwith perspiration, dust and grime. 2 these things are anything but beauti
fying. Ordinary mercolized wax will
do more for the complexion ana witnout giving an oily, streaked, spotted or pasty appearance. It is the Ideal application for the season, as it not only keeps the pores clean, but daily rerf mVr which
have been soiled by dirt or weather. , By constantly keeping the complexion clear, white, satiny, it does more to- : vterd perpetuating a youthful counte-, ; nance than any of the arts or artifices commonly employed. One ounce of mercolized wax. obtainable at any drug Ftore, will completely remove the worst complexion. It is applied at night like cold cream and washed off in the morning. To keep the skin from sagging or , c rinkling, or to overcome such condition, there's nothing better than a face , bath made by dissolving 1 ounce powrired saxolite in pint witch hazel. Adv.
NEW YORK HEARS
Continued From Page One. pay his respects to Mayor Robbins. The cheers that greeted the Colonel who is in the forty-first year of active service stirred all over again the emotions o the New York soldiers. New York Times. The New York Times has the following account of this reception. Richmond, Indiana "ovation town" that turned out 9.000 children from a population of 30,000 to hail the Liberty Bell on its way to the St. Louis exposition in 1904, greeted the Seventh with almost as many this afternoon. After hearing that the Seventh was to pass through, Richmond in two hours organized a demonstration surpassing anything else the Seventh had seen since it left New York. Demonstrations continue in other Indiana towns. For a quarter of a mile along the station platform stood a double line of men, women and children, all waving flags and banners and singing martial airs which a band played. Flags were everywhere. As the train pulled out the throngs rushed to the sides of the coaches to shake the hands of the men and to shout encouragement and good wishes. The crowd kept up Its cheering until the train was out of sight. New York wept and was serious when the Seventh left; New Jersey and Pennsylvania were noisy, but apparently only half enthusiastic; Ohio as placid as the river that skirts its southern borders, opened its mouth only to gape; Indiana, judging from Richmond's greeting, is boisterously and sincerely patriotic.

The large addition to the South Side Improvement Association's club house in Beallview park, wag formerly opened and dedicated last night. The association had as their guests for the occasion members of the Richmond lodge of Elks. No two organizations in Richmond are better Qualified to carry out a dedication than the S. S. L A. and the Elks, hence it goes without saying that the event last night was a howling success. Each organization Is subebarged with "pep," energy and enthusiasm, consequently when the Elks and the S. S. I. A. merged forces last night at Beallview park the entire top of the "pep" register was blown off: - J' Addition Dedicated. The new club house was dedicated last March, but it was soon apparent it was not large enough to accommodate the members of the rapidly growing South Side Improvement association. As a result work was begun a few weeks ago to double the size of the club house, which work was just recently completed. .The new. addition is a very spacious room and over three hundred banqueters were easily accommodated in it. - Following the serving of an excellent dinner the new addition was dedicated with appropriate remarks by Toastmaster W. H. Kelley; A. W. Blickwedel, president of the association; Gus Hoelscher, Judge D. W. Comstock, Wilfred Jessup and President Bavis of the board of . public works. Another
feature of the program was the singing of the Maennerchor." '

They were followed by the Richmond City band, another parading column and by automobiles in which rode the members of the Elks' baseball team ' Following the ball game, In which the Elks were defeated by a score of 2 to 1, there was a musical program. Then dinner was served. Praises Etks Lodge. In his address President Blickwedel told of the accomplishments of the association and lauded the Elks as useful citizens and good fellows. - His address w-as frequently interrupted by rousing cheers and Toastmaster Kelley nearly wore out his gavel restoring order. Gus Hoelscher declared the association and the Elks were among the city's most useful and progressive organizations. He made a big hit. Judge Comstock was also the recipient of a very enthusiastic greeting. He described the growth of the city and its attainments.
