ST. ANDREW'S PUPILS RECEIVE DIPLOMAS
A large audience attended the commencement of St. Andrew's high Kf.hool In the auditorium last night. The program was a pleasing departure from the traditional graduation essays, being made up of Ringing, recitations, and the class play entitled, "The School Ma'am," a comedy in four acts. The mimical numbers were by the Philomath Society quartette, composed of alumnae of the school, , the Misses Leona Buening, Mary , Ileidelman, Matilda Feldman and ' Flora Torbeck. The piano accompaniments were played by Miss Norma Jlunge with violin obllgato by Clarence Runge. The play faithfully portrayed the trials of the teacher in the "deestrict" hchool of a generation ago, who was hired by the "directors" for twentyfive dollars a month out of which she whs to pay six dollars a week board to one of the directors. The title role was taken by Rosella Vormeier, who not only looked the part but also acted it, while Marcellus Pohlmeyer, Alfonao Hipskind and Carl Glaser, the 'directors" were true to life. Anna Aufderakamp, as chief

The two recitations, "I'se Dood," and 'Tse Bad," by Bertha Habing and Hilda Eussen, high school pupils, dressed as little girls, evoked considerable merriment. At the conclusion of the program, the diplomas were presented to the
