FANS OF RING SEE DONNELLY IN WORKOUTS

Rus Hawekotte, Y local boy, Clyde Malston, also of Richmond, Joey Jacobs, a sparring partner, and Roy Peck, Quaker City prominent, all took a turn at the manhandling served out by Stew Donnelly, In the solid hour's ring workout at the Druids Hall yesterday afternoon. Several hundred of the Richmond boxing fraternity was in on the mill

ing and all agreed at conclusion of same, "that Wolgast must come-back to some extent" to get by with a popular decision over the Hoosier understudy to Jack Dillon. The workouts will be continued daily until the day of the card, June 20. - In Friday's milling some real punching was on tap and although Donnelly was responsible for a greater part of the aforementioned, several of -the Richmond boys got in a biff now and then. Malston, especially meant business with Donnelly and the Hoosier was obliged to work up a flourishing perspiration before convincing the Richmond duke star that he had not missed his calling. Hawekotte and Jacobs, physically, and Roy Peck, vocally, took a turn at Donnelly.

John McGraw, the canny manager of the New York Giants, is being credited by the baseball fans, with having pulled a real "bone" when he released Chief Meyers. The veteran Indian was headed for the bushes when McGraw gave him his release, but he paused on the way to the minors and was picked up by WHbert Robinson, manager of the Brooklyn Nationals,' who thought that the Indian had some years of good baseball in him yet. That Robinson's guess was right is proved by the way Meyers has been batting and fielding this year. He has come back with a vengeance and is now batting over .300, is catching like a demon, and runs the bases with the speed cf yore and the Brooklyns are leading the National League.
