Ind., June 16 A serious automobile accident occurred Thursday evening, about 5:30 o'clock, when the Overland automobile driven by Z ' a r.T "ul., , r" luc " Tr ,JL"V " - il:r I'vic, ouuui uue uau inue easi oi Liberty." The car had "not been working well for some time, and a demonftartor from Cincinnati had been working on it. Miss Daisy Farr and Essie Hamilton and Mrs. Ben Ostencamp of Cincinnati, went out to try the car. At the edge of town Miss Farr took the wheel, and - 1 . . . ... . uciure ine occupants or tne car realized what had happened, it left the road, and crashed into the telephone pole. Mrs. Ostencamp and Miss Hamilton were thrown from the machine. Miss Hamilton was rendered unconscious and was badly cut around the face and head. Mrs. Ostencamp was unconscious for some time after the accident and it is uncertain yet whether she has been internally injured or not. Miss FAMILY BAND GIVES NUMBERS FOR FLAG DAY CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., June 10 Flag day was observed Wednesday by an interesting program given in Red Men's hall, under the auspices of the W. R. c. The hal! was attractively decorated with flags. Members of the G. A. R. were in attendance, lending an added intereste to the pro gram. Mrs. Jessie Cornell presided, ! telling 'of the import of the day the one hundred and fortieth birthday of the nation. The Kennedy band, composed of the children of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kennedy, made its first public appearance and played most creditably a number of national airs. Mrs. T. H. Bird, chaplain, read the Scrip- ! ture lesson, the Twenty-third Psalm. Mrs. Gertrude Routh and Mrs. John Thurman sang patriotic songs, with Mrs. Roy Schepman as accompanist, which always touch a responsive cord in the heart of a soldier. Other features of the program were solos by Miss Ruth Fay Wharton and Miss Mary Graves, and Miss Dorothy Moore and Miss Edna Wharton accompanists; a flag drill by twelve children, and recitations by 'Mrs. Jessie Cornell, Master Hoover, Master Merlin Teague. Lillian Teague and readings by Mrs. Harry Custer and Mrs. Cornell. And not the least interesting part of the afternoon's entertainment were the colorbearers. -Mrs. W. F. Medsker and Miss Alberta Alberts assisted with the music. A class will receive first communion at St. Elizabeth's church Sunday monrPentacost Sunday, at 7:30 o'clock.
