Miss Foulke Becomes Bride of Mr.Gates
A perfect June day has been selected for the wedding of. Mr. Dudley Cates, yon rt George Cates, North Eleventh etrcet, and Miss Gwendolen Foulke, (1st talented and attractive daughter rf Mr. and Mrs. William Dudley Foulke. Tho irarr:a.ge is to take place this r-ver. in at G o'clock at the spacious horae cf the Foulkes on Linden Hill. The residence has been transformed into a veritable bower of beauty by means cf snapdragons, lupins, phlox and ether garden flowers, in addition to blcgsoma Iron the Foulke greenhouses, including roses so bountiful in the. month of June. The ceremony will be . performed by the huge fireplace In the library, which has been banked with green and white, spirea and other white flowers being in evidence. The ritual will be said by the Rev. Stanley C. Hughes, rector of old Trinity church, Newport, R. I., and who is a brother-ia-law of the bride. Miss Shirley Putnam of Washington, T). C, will be maid of honor, and Mr. Paul Herriott of San Francisco, best man. The ushers will be nephews of the bride. Masters Robert Morrisson of Chicago, and Arthur Hughes of Newport. R. I. , .. The little flower girls chosen by the bride are Miss Rosemary Morrispon of Chicago, Miss Madeline Lahr of EvanBville, a niece of the bride? groom, and Miss Janet Urle of Chicago. The little girls will be dressed in white. Miss Rosemary will carry a basket trimmed in yellow and filled with rose petals; Miss Janet Urie will carry a pink-trimmed basket and Miss Madaline Lahr of Evansvllle will have a blue basket. They will scatter the lose petals in front, of the bride as she enters the ceremony room on the arm of her father, Mr. William Dudley Foulke, who will give her in marriage.
