Fort Wayne Celebration The city of Fort Wayne is holding a centennial celebration this week. It is paying honor to the state in which it has held a high historical place. In fact, Fort Wayne was a flourishing

village and town long before Indiana was accepted into the" Union." The Fort Wayne celebration is calling to rriind events that transpired when this section of the nation was young.

History shows that Wayne county was established six years before the territory became an integral part of the Union. Richmond was incorporated in 1916. This year then calls for a centennial celebration not only of the state, but

jalso of Richmond. It looks now as if there would

be no centennial :celebration v in Richmond and Wayne county this year. '

Other counties of the Sixth district have jheld or are planning centennial celebrations. ;Little Brookville, rich in historical lore, held a jcelebration last week that attracted general at-

tention for the pretentious manner in which it

was carried but. . Richmond it seems, lacks" enough patriotic pride and love for the state to keep in line with othei; Indiana cities. A : centennial celebration held this autumn would redeemthe. city irif; the eyes of other Indiana cities. ' "" - "Listening-in" Devices -The tapping of telephone wires in'New York

in order to obtain certain evidence sought by

Mayor Mitchel in regard to a supposed conspira

cy has brought about such discussion of the act

of "listening in" on wires and has developed the

fact that there is a means of listening to telephone conversation without direct connection

with the telephone wire. '

Some of the persons whose wires had been

tapped by the police complain that their conver

sations are still being overheard, though the po

lice: have withdrawn, and a story has it that the German secret service uses a device that does not

call for a cutting of the wires. New York scien tists were asked about the existence of such contrivance, and while most of them were skep

tical, one, an electrical engineer and inventor, said two devices of the kind had been used with practical results, though it is not possible to use

them at a great distance. Thus it is that the difficulty; of holding pri

vate and confidential conversations steadily increases.' Dictaphones, i wire tapping and such

methods of breaking into supposedly secret discourse grow more and more numerous. It is even threatened by believers in telepathy that mind reading, even at long distance, is eventually to be possible and terror another thus added to life. In such case safety and secrecy will not be possible even in the middle of a forty-acre lot. Even people who have no dark secrets may feel a certain reluctance to having their thoughts and opinions snatched from them and megaphoned abroad. They are likely to feel as if they might as well be in heaven, where minds are supposed to be transparent and their workings plain to all beholders. The Star.

Long before SENRECO was offered to you we submitted it to hundreds of dentists, requesting that they put it to every test. Told them that we believed Senreco to be an unusually good dentifrice, especially as to its cleansing qualities and its remedial action on sore, soft, bleeding gums; in the treatment of Pyorrhea, etc. Submitted the formula and asked them their opinion. They tested Senreco from every angle; some going even so far as to make a chemical analysis
