HOE OUT HOME ORDER HANDED TO BACHELOR
Sanitary Officer Borton yesterday visited, what he calls, the two "filthiest" residences in the state. One is located at 734 North Fifteenth street; the other on North J street, near Fourteenth Btreet. At the house on North J street the head of the family, a man who has lost both of his legs, has given up occupancy of his "happy home" and taken to living in a shack in the rear of the house, constructed of timber and tin. To enter the shack Borton had to crawl in on his hands and knees. The man informed him that he "felt much more comfortable in the shack than he did in the house. Works With People. "I have been working with these people several months trying to get them to clean up, and my efforts are gradually bringing the desired results," Borton said today.
The sanitary officer found filth accumulations of years at the North
Fifteenth street hovel, inhabited by an aged bachelor. "The place was so filthy that I doubt If a hog could live in it, Borton reported. "I told the old man to get busy and do some cleaning, and he told me he was too busy hoeing his garden. I then ordered him to get busy at once and hoe out his home. There is more dirt In it than there Is in the garden. If he has not done o good job of house cleaning by tomorrow I will bring Mm into city court on a charge af maintaining a nuisance."

TRINITY LUTHERANS ALWAYS RANK HIGH IN THEIR ATTENDANCE
A review of the records made by the Sunday schools .which have submitted returns on their attendance tor the month of May, shows that Trinity Lutheran was one of the three leaders on every Sunday of the month. On the first two "Sundays it ranked third; on the third Sunday it went to second, and last Sunday, when children were kept from attending by the weather, Trinity went into first place. No other Sunday school can claim the record of qualifying every Sunday in the list of ranking three. The Second Lutheran headed the list on the first Sunday in the month and on the third, but failed to qualify on the other Sundays. The First Lutheran stood second on the second Sunday and third on the third Sunday. Reid Memorial stood first on the second Sunday, but was unable to get in the upper class any other time. The North A street Friends' stood second on the First Sunday and the West Richmond Friends second on the last Sunday. The ranking for the four Sundays in May follows: Sunday, May 7 Second Lutheran, 87 per cent; North A Friends', 85; Trinity, 80. Sunday, May 14 Reid Memorial, 89; First Lutheran, 86; Trinity, 85. Sunday, May 21 Second Lutheran, 81; Trinity, 76; First Lutheran, 74. Sunday. May 28 Trinity. 56; West Richmond Friends, 50; St. Paul's Lutheran, 48.

ELLEN REID, Trained Norse
Some months aco, Van Norden, the celebrated specialist, startled his colleagues with the statement that he had successfully treated Diabetes cases with whiskey. As an absolutely pure medicinal whiskey, Duffy's-Pure Malt could have made use of such an authoritative statement, but declined for lack of proof. Here, though, is real proof recently received from a nurse who in years of actual practice has found the use of Duffy's Pure Malt Whiskey of immediate benefit in the dread disease, diabetes, and we quote it for what it is worth to the afHicted : " have been a nurse, but how reH -ed. J have always taken your Duffy's Pure Malt Whiskey when run down by overwork, and in Diabetes havffreeommended it to everyone, and with the aid of it and yeast from the brewery Duffy's Pure Malt Whiskey has cured Diabetes. Of course, all sugar and sweet things are out ofths the diet" Ellen Reid, 189 100th St.. New York City.
