AMERICAN SCHOOLBOY - HELD PRISONER
MONTANI KNOWN WELL AS HARPIST
Mr. Pasquale L. Montaini, who will appear In the Round Table Festival Co. program which is being promoted by the Eagles lodge at the Eagles' Home, the evening of May 23, is well known to the musical public as a harpist of ability. There is no musical Instrument Quite so satisfying as the harp; none with tones so appealing to the musical sense .or so truely expressive. Its inherent qualities are supplemented by the romance of a history extending to the time of the master psalm writer, David ; it has been honored in song and verse as no other instrument. It is through a perfect understanding of the possibilities of the harp and a mastery of the most difficult problems it presents that Mr. Montani has attained a position of distinction as a harpist. He is a finished artist, faithful to musical standards, discriminating and intelligently voiced. Those who know Mr. Montani and his harp are best highest in' the praise of his ability as an artist. The wonderful tones he sends forth from this most wonderful of instruments lifts any heart out of the trials and worries of the life to a fuller realization of the .beauties of the higher living. An. evening spent with' Mr. Montani is an 'event in the life of anyone as he lifts them to the higher plane and satisfies the demand of the soul for something great and beautiful. The tones from the most wonderful of instruments when in the hands of this artist are so full, pure and expressive as to be only understood and not expressed. Mr. Montani in the program will furnish several solos and accompany most of the other performers. Here is another treat. -

Timothy Nicholson has submitted' the following: - The Hon. Percy , Aides, member of Parliament, upon the direful condition in Belgian. Servia, Poland and Armenia, In his address at the public meeting last week in this city fie stated from his own observations and knowledge, there were millions of people, men women and children, in , these countries who must be supplied with food while this unspeakable war disaster continues,', and that the . food must come chiefly from America, and that the rations for an Individual or a family was -merely sufficient to sustain' life; that the dispenser in Belgium was an American Relief Association, the head of which was a citizen of the
United States, and that his wonderful executive ability was universally acknowledged and admired, and that all
contributors may assured -know their
donations will be mos economically used. He also 'responded enthusiastically to the Friends Ambulance Unit in Belgium and France, of our six hundred men serving under direction of the Red Cross in gathering the wounded and taking them to and serving them in the hospitals. Hon. Percy Alden is a practical social worker. He several years ago established a large settlement house in East London. At the close of his address he appealed for financial aid, and suggested the subscriptions be paid monthly as was being done in many places, for the remainder of the year, or until the close of the war, which he believed would occur before next January. Several persons present subscribed $1 per month as suggested. As chairman of the meeting, the undersigned was instructed to appoint two committees of three persons each the one to secure subscriptions for the famishing millions in Belgium and other countries and for the aid of the Friends Ambulance Unit. Like A Boy at 50 Bubbling Over - With Vitality Taking Iron Did It Doctor Says Nuxated Iron is Greatest of all Strength Builders Often Increases the .Strength and Endur-, . ance of Delicate, Nervous Folks 200 Per Cent. . In Two Weeks Time.

NEW YORK. N. Y. Not long ago a man came to me who was nearly half a century old and asked me to give him a preliminary examination for life insurance. I was astonished to find .him. with .the blood pressure of a boy of 20 and. as full of vigor, vim and vitality as a young man ; in fact a youag man he really was notwithstanding his age. The secret he said was taking iron nuxated iron had filled him with renewed life. At 30 he was in bad health; at 46 careworn and nearly all In. Now at 50 a miracle of vitality and his face beaming with the bouyancy of youth. As I have said a hundred times over, Iron is the greatest of alii strength
builders. If people ,would only throw,
away patent medicines and nauseous concoctions and take simple nuxated iron. I am -convinced that the. lives of thousands of persons' might be saved, who now die every year from pneumonia, grippe, consumption, kidney, liver and heart trouble, etc. The real and true cause which started their diseases was nothing more nor less than a weakened condition brought on by lack of iron in the blood. Iron is absolutely necessary to enable your lbood to change food into living tissue. Without it, your food merely passes through you without doing you any good. You don't get the strength out of it and as a consequence you become weak, pale and sickly looking just like a plant trying to grow in a soil deficient in iron. If you are not strong or well you owe it to yourself to make the fpllowing test: See how long you can work or how far you can walk without becoming tired. Next take two five-grain tablets of ordinary nuxated iron three times per day after meals for two weeks. Then test your strength again and see for yourself how much you have gained. . I have seen dozens of nervous run-down people who were ailing all the while.
double their strength and endurance and entirely get rid of all symptoms of dyspepsia, liver and other troubles In from ten to fourteen days time, simply by taking iron in the 1 proper form. And this after they had In some cases been doctoring for months without obtaining any benefit. But don't take the old forms of reduced Iron, jron acetate or Uncture of iron simply to save a few cents. You must take- iron in a form that can be easily absorbed ana assimiliated like nuxated iron if you want it to do you any good, otherwise it may prove worse than useless. Many an athlete or prizefighter has won the d. y simply because he knew the secret of great strength and endurance and filled his blood with Iron before he went Into the affray, while many another has gone down to inglorious defeat simply for the lack of iron. E. Sauer, M. D-. NOTE Nuxated Iron, recommended above by Dr. Sauer is not a patent medicine nor secret remedy, but one which is well known to druggists and whose Iron constituents are widely prescribed by eminent physicians everywhere. Unlike the older inorganic iron products, it is easily assimilated, does not injure the teeth, make them black, nor upset the stomach; on the contrary, it is a most potent remedy. In nearly all forms of indigestion, as well as for nervous, run-down conditions. The manufacturers have such great confidence in Nuxated Iron that they offer to forfeit $100.00 to any charitable institution if they cannot take any man or woman under 60 who lacks iron and increase their strength 200 per cent, or over in four weeks' time, provided they have no serious organic trouble. They also offer to refund your money if it does not at least double your strength and endurance in ten days time. It is dispensed in this city by The Thistlethwaite drug stores and Conkey Drug company.
