RICHMOND FRIENDS LEAD IN CONVENTION
Richmond men will take a promi
nent part in the Ministerial Alliance Association of Indiana Yearly Meeting which will meet In the annual gathering at Lynn, Indiana, June 5 and 6. On Monday afternoon, Rev. Milo S. Hinckle will speak on "A Pastor's Vision," and Timothy Nicholson will speak on "An Elder's View of Shepherding the Flock." In the evening, President Robert L. Kelly will give an address on "Efficiency for Effectiveness." Tuesday morning, Truman C. Kenworthy will epeak on "'Recruiting for Christ," and will head a round table discussion. "Promoting Missionary Interest, Home. Foreign," will be the subject discussed in the afternoon by Ross Hadley.
EAGLES PICK DELEG ATES
Charles Potter, August Johannlng and Frank Strayer were elected delegates to the state Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at the meeting of the Wayne Aerie last night. Charles Ashenfelter was elected alternate. The state Aerie will meet in Indianapolis. June 7 and 8. Mr. Potter is an official in the state Aerie by virtue of his having been Past Worthy Junior President. About a dozen applications for membership were received at the meeting last night.

Hard-hitting sermons are not wanted at Trinity Episcopal church, Newark N. J., according to the Rev. Mercer Green Johnston, who has just resigned his pastorate. "My vestrymen want me to run the church like a grocery store please the customers," said Dr. Johnston. "One of my vestrymen told me that my sort of religion was interesting, but it was bound to hurt business. I told him it had not hurt the business I was in." ,
CATCH BANDITS WHO MADE RAID
MARATHON, Tex.. May 18. Mexican bandits, who raided Glenn Springs several weeks ago and killed half of the gallant little band of American troops that garrisoned the town, were captured late Monday afternoon near Leguna Del Fresno, 105 miles south of the border by troops under Major Langhorn and Colonel Sibley. This word was brought here today by soldiers returning on truck trains.
EL PASO, Tex, May 18. Ten thousand Carranzista 4 troops , are being moved to within a few hours march of the American border today under the order of General Obregon. Commanding them is General T revino, one of Obregon'a most trusted staff officers, who is to be in charge of the military situation in northern Mexico. Is Large Movement. The troop movement, said by Mexican ficials to "be the largest ever made in that country, was explained as part of General Obregon's agreement with General Scott and Funston. The ten thousand soldiers, they declared, are to take over the work of the American expeditionary forces sent to capture Francisco Villa and disperse his outlaw band. They will also be distributed to prevent further trouble along the border. General Trevino was expected to make his headquarters in Juarez. The
