I Now that Richmond is renresnted by. the first really and truly -Richmond" club, the majority of Quaker fans Is predicting the most consistent winner since the Inauguration of the national game in the city.: Not that the inability of the former Quakerltes such as John Popklne, Novack, Schlemker, Curley, Bacon and others of the old guard is qnestoned. The point is that the reaUQuakers Logan, Stevey, Sulliyan, , Cooney, Davis, Minner. Kelly. Moore, Schattel and Holmes are just as good as pastimers as the above mentioned guard was at any stage of Its "palimest" day. Sunday's argument with ' the Lick - Run club went a mighty good ways to substantiate this rather noisy assertion.; The Lick Run club with Hal Bacon, flinging, conceded by those who claim they know, as the best traveling combination out of Cincinnati was set back rather easily. With Pete Minner in characteristic BAY BRUBAKER HITS LIKE BRILL With Ray Brubaker back in the minors and Carl Roop again pitching seWpro ball indications, are that Richmond will not furnish any material for the big rings this year. Both Brubaker -and Roop were slated to move up into the big show. Brubaker, who was formerly captain and coach of the Earlham college team, and later served with Dick Kenney's Richmond crew,, is now a fullfledged member of the Muskegon (Mich.) team of the Central league. Ray is holding down shortstop for the Muskegs, and to say that he Is getting by ia putting it mildly. Bru is hitting like a Natco drill, and fieldjust a shade better. ' Carl Roop, it seems, prefers to play Sunday eemi-pro ball. Carl, who, at present is serving with the. Krebs club at Hamilton, O., has had several chances to break into speedier company this year, but inasmuch as Richmond is -his home he prefers to remain here and play Sunday ball. RACE FANS BANK ON WAYNE RACER CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., May 17. Local followers of the turf game are banking on Single G., the Wayne county pacer, to furnish the feature work of the Memorial day race meeting ing to-be staged at Munoie, under the Auspices of the Delaware County Fair association. Single G. is now housed at the Delaware stables. His trainer figures that he will step a mile in 2:00 flat this season. Curt Gosnell, the Cambridge City driver, is training Single G. Cochato Jap, Wilbur S., and Peter the Great are other horses under the care of Gosnell at the Muncie track. Big League Dope NATIONAL LEAGUE.
