Keeping the Child Busy The industrial survey shows that only ten and two-tenths per cent of the children of the city are interested in productive occupation after school hours. Professor Randall suggests that children, be given some definite occupation to utilize this time. . He does not propose the employment of children in stores and shops during the recreation hour, but it advising the necessity of what he calls "play-work," TMs form of work combines play with the occupation. Many parents find it difficult to judge when play ends and work begins. If a child does not enter into the spirit of "play-work" but looks upon it as a task enjoined by parental command, it were better to let the child seek enjoyment and happiness in playing. Few children object to the ordinary chores that are to be done in every home, but they op

The correctness of our belief that smokers do prefer quality rather than premiums or coupons is proven by the enthusiasm with which Prince Albert pipe and cigarette tobacco has been received throughout the civilized world! Premiums or coupons have never been offered as an inducement to smoke it!
Prince Albert is sold strictly on merit. It is a tobacco of choice quality, and made by an exclusive patented process thai does cut out bite and parch! It took three years and a fortune to perfect that process so that today every man with a desire to smoke a pipe or roll his own cigarettes can do so without a comeback, no matter how tender his tongue or throat may be! Guerilla War Texas is aroused over the latest raid by Mexican bandits. Every patriotic American must join in the demand of Texas that the administration take effective measures to check a recurrence of these outrages. The president has no assurance that what happened at Glen Springs, Bouquillas and Columbus will not be repeated in countless villages and hamlets along the border. "Watchful waiting" ought be followed up with "energetic action." American lives along the border are just as sacred as American lives aboard a steamer laden with munitions of war for the allies. If Germany is to be held "strictly accountable,' why not hold someone "strictly accountable" in Mexico?

In line with their Improvements In all departments of their exhibitions this year. Gentry Brothers Famous Shows, which will make their 1919 bow to Richmond on lots opposite Glen Miller park, on May 10, have this year engaged -Miss Minnie Thompson, noted blu ribbon winner at New York and other eastern horse shows, to ride their celebrated high school horses. C A. SUITS, DRESSES, SILKS Use- gasoline to dry clean every, thing at home and save $5 In an hour. Dry cleaning at home is all the rage here, says a well-known downtown druggist. Any woman can do five dollars' worth of dry cleaning at home at very little cost by dissolving two ounces of solvite in two gallons of gasoline; then immerse the articles to be cleaned; rub a little and in a few moments the gasoline evaporates and the articles cleaned look as bright and fresh as new. Dry clean your own silk waists, dresses, ribbons, belts, kid gloves, satin shoes, evening slippers, fine laces, net work, woolens, dresses, children's coats, furs, veils, neckties, shawls, gentlemen's garments, fancy vests, lace curtains, rugs, in fact, everything that would be ruined by washing with soap and water. Nothing will fade, shrink or wrinkle, making pressing unnecessary. Dry cleaning at home is inexpensive and effects a tremendous saving in the household and is really ju6t as easy as laundering. Any druggist will sell two ounces of solvite which is simply a gasoline soap and your grocer or a garage will supply the gasoline. Then the outfit. As gasoline Is very lnflammmable, be sure to do your cleaning out of doors or in a room away a wash boiler or dishpan completes from fire or flame, with the windows left open.
