Lesson text Acts 11:19; 13:1-3. Golden Text "Oo ye, therefore and teach all nations." The marching order of the church is, "Preach the gospel to every creature." The Jerusalem church failed to put into practice the Great Commission. The memory of a church as well as of an individual is cherished by what

it has done. The vision of the Jerusalem church was limited to their own

community. A self-complacent church is sure to be short lived. The church

at Antioch outlives and outshines the

Jerusalem church.

-, Christendom is tremendously indebt

ed to the little Gentile church at Anti

och the first to obey the command of

Christ to witness to all the world. Antioch gave Christendom two im

portant things, the Christian name and Christian missions.

While this church was fasting and praying the Holy Ghost . called Paul and Barnabas for missionary work. When the church furnished the money, God supplied the men, and be it remembered that God placed the responsibility for the missionary propaganda on the church, for "when they had

fasted and prayed and laved their

hands on them they sent them away.

Who can doubt that the members

of the Antioch church followed these missionaries whom they sent forth, with increasing interest, fervent prayer and earnest support. It would be a good thing if every local church was supporting one or more workers in a foreign field. REV. H. S. JAMES.
